Hi Guys,
I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend during our trip September 6-10. We experienced WWOHP last November and both absolutely loved it. I would love to pop the question at WWOHP, but anywhere at the resort would be great. We are staying at the Portofino, I thought Bice would be an option. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If I'm thinking outside the box....

Highly doubt it's doable, but would be cool to have the ring come out of the correct wand's box at Ollivander's during the show. Would obviously entail alot of coordination with Universal, and guessing too much for their taste.

If it were a week day in September I bet it would be slow enough to actually pull off Ollivanders! How amazing would that be?? :goodvibes

Portofino has nightly opera-style singers who serenade the hotel from a balcony in the courtyard each night. I'm certain you could build something highly romantic around that if you call the hotel and work something out with them and the singers. They have a spotlight... perhaps they could shine it on you and the singers could serenade you as everyone cheers (or vomits, depending on one's view of these things... ha).

That's if the Ollivanders idea doesn't pan out...

i would see if you could get it in the box with a chocolate frog. can't remember if they were hollow or solid...be great if they were hollow and you could cut a hole in bottom sneak ring in and replace the piece of chocolate.

Thank you all for some great ideas. I've previously contacted universal about doing it at Olivander's. They were very nice but said they wouldn't be able to accommodate. I like the idea of the frog or the singers at the Portofino. Thank you all, these forums have been very helpful.

Each of the hotels has a very casual character dinner one night a week. You could probably arrange something with them too. The one at the Islands does not cost anything extra and there are generally very few people in the restaurant. It would be quite easy to plan something like that.

Whatever you do, keep us posted and let us know how it goes. With pics, if possible (assuming there's someone else to take them -- last thing you want to do during a proposal is whip out a camera right after the ring).

Also... are you SURE you want to go through with this??? I mean, really sure???

Just kidding... best of luck.

Cool idea! BTW, the chocolate frogs are solid chocolate - and really big! They pretty much take up all the room in their boxes.

Good luck!

knew they were big couldn't remember if solid or hollow...could tape it in the box or something...

I don't have any imagination for this kind of stuff. I guess that's why I'm still single. :rolleyes1 ;)

Maybe during the Horror Makeup show you could arrange for her to be chosen as the "volunteer" and then plan to propose somehow when she is up on stage.

this is a great idea!! The person who goes up on stage is usually so fun to watch. :rotfl: glad it was never me though! :woohoo:

i will most definitely take pictures! I'm definitely sure about this one! She's a keeper! I too love the Horror Show, I'll definitely keep that in consideration. I'm a huge Captain America fan, I might try to contact them to try to set something up there. She would think it was awesome too. Thanks again guys!
