From your experience, what rides are the busiest? When you experience travelers go to WDW, what rides do you hit early in the morning and what is okay to leave until later in the day?

You might want to look up the rides that offer Fastpass - those usually form the longest lines later in the day (a few form lines early in the day, but many did not on our recent trip in early December). Dumbo also forms long lines, but does not offer Fastpass.

Rather than plan it all out yourself as a newbie, have you considered just using one of the touring plan companies instead? Might be easier and less stressful - and they aren't at all expensive!

Touring plans? Like a travel agent????? I have no idea! LOL I would love more info! :hippie:

Not quite - but there are a couple books & sites where you can get pre-planned routes through the parks. Tour Guide Mike (TGM) is an official DIS sponser - his site gives tips and stuff, but it doesn't give you customized plans like the link implies. (I haven't tried it, but have read a bit about it on the Strategies forum). The Unofficial Guide series of books have their own plans - you can cut them out of the back of the book. I bought the UG with Kids, and I'm intending to sort of loosely base our days and strategies on their plans, esp. at the Magic Kingdom. The same company has a website, tho if I try to spell it out, it will get ***'d due to being direct competition to TGM. But, that site has apparently more plans than are in the books, but I don't think you can directly customize them.

(I need to remember to bring my book into the office, so I can photocopy the plans I intend to use, so I can have multiple copies of it for dh and me, and just in case I lose it! I've already scribbled some notes, since Splash Mountain is closed, and there are certain things I want to skip, like Country Bear Jamboree, yada, yada, yada.)

I'm still curious to see how well any sort of plan will hold up to real life with kids, of course, not to mention a dh who hasn't read the book!

I have the Unofficial Guide (book) that has some touring plans - the whole idea is to get you through the parks to see as much as possible with the least amount of waiting in line (given the crowds on that day). You might want to stop by a bookstore and flip to the back of this book to see what I mean; there are plenty other sources of touring plans, too, that's just the only one I'm familiar with.
