Our first ever Disney vacation is months away but I sit at home half of the month doing nothing so I've become obsessed with planning it. I've also had to make so many changes already just to get my husband and my DS (11) excited about it. On this trip is will be me, DH, DD (9), DS (11) and my husbands grandmother.

So far these are our plans:

Saturday Nov. 22nd - We will be leaving our home in Austin Texas and getting on an Amtrak train around 6:30pm - the train ride will be 37 hours long. I added this aspect in our vacation because I realized I had the weekend off and it would make DH and DS happy.

Monday Nov. 24th - We will get into LA around 6:00am. We are renting a car and will spend most of the day checking out the area. We will end the night in Carlsbad at a beach hotel!

Tuesday Nov. 25th - We are spending the day at Legoland (another day to make DS happy). When the park closes at 5pm we will head to Anaheim and check into our hotel and eat at Rainforest Cafe.

Wednesday Nov. 26th - Friday November 28th - Disneyland Days

Saturday November 29th - Head to LAX and take a plan back home to Texas around 1pm.

I have 2 current hotels booked for our nights in Anaheim. Desert Inn & Suites with 2 bedrooms and a great cost. However, I also have been planning on staying at HOJO for years so I booked 2 rooms there with a discount but still about $300 more than DI&S. However, my husband threw a wrench into the whole thing today and told me to book whatever hotel I wanted and that he is willing to share a room with his grandmother. So, I'm thinking about either PPH or DLH (PPH would be the same price as the 2 rooms at HOJO so still affordable).

Our plans for Disnyland is to eat at Aerial's Grotto, do BBB, and go to the Jedi Training. We will probably use Ridemax for rides but we don't even ride many of them. We are also thinking of doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour.

Any suggestions would definitely be awesome and any advice on unique clothing for DD would be great. She's on youtube every free day she has looking at people's trips and really wants to find a unique fluffy dress and other outfits.

The first thing that jumped out at me was that you'll be there during Thanksgivng. That means high crowds, so prepare yourself and your family for that. Given the timing I would definitely make reservations for any resturants or activies you want to do (don't try winging it). The Holiday decor should be up which always amazing to see. If you haven't checked out the Christmas Super Thread I'd head over there and say "hi!"

I agree with the other poster....We went last year during the week of Thanksgiving and it was incredibly busy. We made reservations (60 days in advance) for Thanksgiving day at Blue Bayou and the hostess had to turn away anyone who didn't have a reservation.
