On all of our previous trips, on our last day, we have always flown out first thing in the morning. However, on our upcoming Disney trip, our flight does not leave until 9pm. We are looking for suggestions on how to spend our day... we don't want to be to hot and sweaty for the plane ride home. This is an 11 day trip, so we have plenty of park days....so we are open to spending it anywhere at Disney...not just the parks. What are some things you like to do on your last day?

We usually fly out early morning too, this time we are flying out later in the day and have chosen to spend our last few hours at Magic Kingdom, my favorite park. We are doing breakfast at BOG then taking in the ambiance once more time before we leave. It's my happy place :) A few ideas for you are Disney Springs for some last minute shopping or even doing a resort hopping tour....maybe there is somewhere you'd like to scope out for your next trip?

Resort hop, check out Disney Springs one more time, catch one of the tours they offer in all of the parks. The Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK does give a peek into the utilidors under the park.

We generally will go to a park on the last day if our flight is that late. We dont stay all day, but will plan to be there until lunchtime or so.

I have also planned a late breakfast after we checked out and then we would resort hop if we missed holiday decorations.

We usually fly out late. This past trip we had fastpassss at Epcot first thing, then had breakfast at Kona (we almost never have sit down breakfasts during vacation) and then did some resort hopping!

Where are you staying? That would influence what I do.

We stay at the Beach Club often. We do the character breakfast. Maybe even rent a surrey bike and ride around the Boardwalk. And then we sit by the pool - since so often we're rushingrushing it's nice to just have a day where I'm actually at the hotel for a bit. And you can take a shower at the pool facilities before heading to the airport.

We often leave in the evening on our last day. We have done a variety of things but whatever we do it is much more low key than other days. A lot of the day is spent looking for last minute souvenirs so if we go to a park we spend a lot of time in all the shops, or we go to Disney Springs and resort hop to look in the gift shops. We usually eat a larger meal earlier in the day at a breakfast buffet (which we usually stay away from when we have a packed day in the parks so we won't be uncomfortable) or a very early lunch. Then we will just get a snack when we are hungry later so we aren't flying on an uncomfortably full stomach. If we go to a park we typically choose the park based on where our favorite ride is and make sure to get a FP for that ride and then we tend to do shows or rides that typically don't have much of a wait. A lot of times we also just fine a nice place to sit and have a drink or snack and people watch while we talk about our trip.

We flew out in the late afternoon a couple of weeks ago, and spent the day at Typhoon Lagoon. We took toiletries to shower afterwards and got dressed in fresh clothes for the trip home. It worked out perfectly.

With a 9pm flight if you are taking the ME you will have to be back at the resort for 6pm. This gives a good amount of time to do a few things. You didn't mention where you are staying. I would do a little resort hopping with a lunch planned at one of them. You could do the monorail route with lunch at one of the poly restaurants. Then you could hop on a bus over to AKV to view the animals or go over to the boardwalk to check out the shops and get some ice cream, grab an early dinner and then get back to your resort. If you want to shop then just sleep in head over to DS - shop eat and make your way back to your resort. It is sometimes nice just to spend the last hour or so soaking up you last bit of time at your resort. We did this on our last trip at the BWV -- we got some amazing ice cream, sat on the board walk people watched and just relaxed before our trip was over.

If you have a car, go explore Orlando. Gator Land, Outlet Malls, Galleria Mall, tons of stuff to do.
