Wow!! I love these pictures! They are absolutely amazing. I love being able to live through other people!! I can only imagine seeing the real David. I saw a fake statue at Ripley's Believe It or Not in St. Augustine, FL and it was beautiful!

Wow, those churches are just gorgeous! We just got back from vacation in Las Vegas, where we stayed at Caesars Palace. There's a replica of David there, but I'm sure it's nothing like seeing the original (obviously lol)!!

I think driving past all of the sunflower fields was one of my favorite things of the whole trip. I couldn't believe how amazing they were! It was like driving right through a postcard!

Thank you! I can't believe how many replicas of David there are! I was surprised that there were two just in Florence! The real one was definitely an amazing site though - it's hard to describe just how massive it is!

Seeing all of the beautiful churches was one of my favorite things during the trip. Of course, none could compare to St. Peter's.

Itineraries are comforting, aren't they? We definitely do better having a plan to follow, and normally, we stick to it pretty well. So now I think we're up to 4 replicas of David! Two in Florence, Leeanne saw one in Florida, and you've seen one in Las Vegas! I wonder how many more there are?!

Thank you! I must admit that spreadsheet does make me feel much more relaxed about our November trip. I was worried about not really having time to do everything since it's a shorter trip for us, but laying it all out like that makes me relax some.

Thank you! Your trip is getting so close! I know you must be giddy with excitement! The wedding planning is coming along really well. I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere and getting some big things accomplished. I've been meaning to post another wedding update for a few weeks now. Hopefully I'll get around to it sometime this week - I've got lots to share!

HOW WE SPENT OUR SUMMER

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend. Isn’t it hard to believe that summer has come and gone? It’s finally starting to cool down here in Atlanta and it’s beginning to feel like fall. It’s really making us realize that the holiday season is just around the corner – and with it, our November trip to Disney!

In honor of the end of summer, I thought I would share with you how we spent ours!

One thing that every Georgian must do is visit the World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta. The WOC recently moved into a new facility and neither Miguel nor I had been there. So, one day we decided to venture on down to the new location and take a look around.

One of my favorite things to do at the old WOC as a child was sample all of the soda flavors from around the world (much like the place at EPCOT)! It you remember from my TR, the Beverly dispenser was not working for us in January. Well, we finally got the chance to try the stuff and it definitely fits its reputation – it was gross!

We had a great time at the WOC. We got to see the machinery that makes the Coke, watch Coke advertisements from around the world, see the Coca Cola bear, and much more. And, when you leave you get to take home a free, decorated glass Coke bottle. Here's Miguel inspecting his.

It's neat knowing that such an iconic brand was developed in the place we call home.

Miguel and I also ventured out to Zoo Atlanta this summer. As with WOC, this was a place I hadn’t visited in years and Miguel had never visited. We had lots of fun looking at all of the animals.

Perhaps our biggest venture for the summer was our day trip to Chatanooga to visit the Tennessee Aquarium. Chatanooga is only about 2.5 hours from where we live so it was the perfect location for a “day away”. I visited the TN Aquarium on a field trip in middle school and remember absolutely loving it. Since we had visited the GA Aquarium last summer, I thought it would be fun to show Miguel the one in Tennessee.

I have to admit, the butterfly garden they have kind of freaked me out!

This was what happened when I told Miguel to "look scared" of the shark!

All in all, it was a great summer but we're definitely ready for fall and our trip to Disney!

How neat that your best friend went to Emory! My best friend's sister is at school there now. There is a lot of fun stuff to do here, probably more than I realize. It's fun to kind of be a tourist in your own city every once in a while. Oh, and I am a complete diet coke addict, too!

OH MY GOODNESS we are SO excited for Disney!!!!!!!

Yesterday I went through all my new clothes and other clothes to see what else I need for Disney next month. Later this week I get to tackle my sons wardrobe- go through boxes of fall clothes and his dresser drawers of summer clothes to see what all will be packed.
My DH made a countdown calendar for our son and everyday he helps me draw a mickey head on the day I can not wait!!!!!!!!! We just went over all our DDP stuff today too! (check out my main page and I posted a note of my DH's PTR he started. needs to be updated lol)
