So I am hooked. I have been sucked in and completely consumed with planning this trip! I eat sleep and breathe Mickey Mouse. Yes, we are planning our first trip to WDW, we will be there over Thanksgiving week. I CAN'T WAIT! :cool1:

We have four kids, ranging in age from 3 to 16. We will be celebrating our 17th anniversary and our oldest DD 14th birthday is on Thanksgiving Day. I have been to Disneyland more times than I can count but as far as the World goes I'm as "green" as one can get. I have spent several weeks here on the DISBoard, reading and gathering information but I had no idea this vacation would be so much work. :surfweb:

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. At first I wasn't too excited about it because we are from Colorado and can have the "mountain lodge" experience most any time. But as I have been reading the descriptions of the resort I think it will just be like a slice of heaven! We might not even feel homesick on Thanksgiving...like there is a chance of that happening! ;)

All our meals are planned...the ADR's are set! It's funny to think that we know what we are going to be eating in three months but I have no ideas for today. Oh well, I don't have time for dinner now anyway, we have too much planning to do. :rotfl:

I have taken steps to ensure that each one of our kids has a specail experience all their own....our youngest DS is going on the Bayou Pirate Adventure out of the POR. Our oldest DS has chosen a few places to eat, isn't that what all teenage boys think about is food? And our two DD will both be going to the BBB in the MK on. For our DD birthday breakfast we are eating in CRT and then for dinner that night we are eating at the LTT. It will truly be a magical Thanksgiving Day! :wizard:

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the advice and tips! Now if someone could just tell me how to make the time move faster! :hourglass

How fun... ur first disney vacation.... and your celebrating so much... Your going to have a blast. Unfortunatley I have to wait until next year for our next trip :( but I pass the time and Dis and learn as much as I could before going down to FL. Have a wonderful time...

Welcome to the DIS!!! Have a great vacation.

That's a lot to celebrate on your first WDW trip. Make sure to let them know about your anniversary & the birthday, you may get a few extra "perks". ;)

Congratulations! I am glad that someone already told you to let WDW you will be celebrating many milestones, but I am not surprised because any experienced DISer wouldn't let that pass to make sure that you can feel all the special magic!

Go buy the Unofficial Guide to Disney World. Read it from cover to cover and your 2 months, 3 days should just about be up. lol. No, really, it is a great resource and it will take a while to read it. Hope ya'll have a great time. We have 4 kids also and we are leaving in 20 days. I can't hardly stand it!

At Guest Services, ask for Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday buttons! You will hear Happy Anniversary A LOT! and the b'day girl will hear Happy B'day just as much! The CMs make it a point to wish people with these buttons on the proper greeting. It truly makes you feel special! We got the Anniv. buttons and heard greetings at least 20 times in 5 days:)

Enjoy!

How exciting! Even though preparing for a WDW vacation can seem like it's work, believe me when I say it's the best work you'll ever do! Being prepared (especially over Thanksgiving) will give you the best opportunity to have the greatest vacation.

Of course, I think*planning a WDW vacation is one of my favorite pasttimes. I plan them even when I don't know when I'm going next! We'll be there in Feb. 2008 and I'm thrilled.

Welcome to the DISboard and have a great. My wife and I are headed to WDW in 19 Days but whose counting LOL

Tony

Congratulations!! You are going to have a fantastic time! The planning is so much fun, and nothing is better than passing under those WDW arches for the first time! Have a FABULOUS time!!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I still can't believe we are FINALLY going! I feel like I need someone to pinch me...lol.

I do have nearly all the books that are out there. I think my favorite is the Unofficial Guide. I have read through it so many times I might have it memorised!

But I do have one question...I have heard about the anniversary and birthday buttons but is it ok to wear them the whole time you're there and not just on the actual day? lol...we will be celebrating everything every day but I don't want it to seem "greedy" KWIM?
