Planning on renewing vows on the Grand Yacht

We are planning on celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year. We have given a ton of thought on how we want to go about doing so. We have approx. 10- 16 guests. We have called and checked into Escapes and Wishes weddings but for the money we really are not getting our guests much involved. So in checking further I see that we can rent the Grand Yacht for a few hours. Wondering if anyone has done this for a vow renewal and if so what have you done for enhancements on the yacht?

I may be wrong but I think that Disney frowns on any wedding/vow renewal which doesn't go through the official wedding channels!!! I suppose if you didn't want a gown, flowers, officiant etc and called it an 'anniversary celebration' you may get away with it. Good luck!!

I called Disney Play and was informed that they do vow renewals all the time and many are done on the Grand One Yacht. Now I am just trying to find out what others have done for enhancements.

Yes, they do them all the time but you have to go through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings for any kind of wedding celebration on property. You could risk getting kicked out if you were caught.

I agree with PP. From everything I have heard, if Disney finds out you're doing a wedding type event without going through them, they can kick you off property.

We are doing all enhancements through the Grand Floridian, and just renewing our vows to each other on the Grand One. This was given the approval by Disney Play. So maybe I need to clarify what I mean by enhancments. What I am asking is what has others added on or paid for thru Disney for such an event on the Grand One. Does this make more sense.

What a great idea. How about a dessert party before or after your vow renewal at GF ? Is this the kind of idea you are looking for?

I am sure you can get desserts, some type of food and drinks on the Grand 1 through GF private dining. You can also get a custom cake.

Yes this helps greatly. Wondering if anyone has added disney's party package which as I understand includes balloons and a banner.

What a great idea! My hubby just gave me the ok to start planning something our 15th anniversay in WDW! Were you able to book the yacht for during Wishes? That would such a nice extra for your guests!

Would LOVE to know more info. about this. I asked Disney Weddings if this was possible, and they said that although we could book the Grand 1, they would not assist in any vow renewal onboard. I have an email back in to them asking if I could arrange my own onboard.

Can you give details??!!!
