Hi,
I am new to the board. Thanks in advance for your help.
I am planning to go to WDW Oct 22-30 (wife and 2 kids 3,5)
Is this a busy time to go?
Anyone know the lowest price for a 5 day park hopper (don't need the plus) Paramount is $239 do you get free breakfast?
What day is best for the Mickeys Holloween- Fri or Sun?
We can't afford to stay onsite I was looking at the Roadway Inn anyone stay there? We need to keep it under $50 a night.
Thank you
Jon

If I were you, I'd avoind the Rodeway. It doesn't get good reviews. Someone recently said its nickname was the Roachway Motel! . I would look on HotelKingdom.com or HotelMartUSA.com. You should be able to get a 3 star on Priceline in the Disney for less than $50, too.

On your tickets, remember that Paramount charges shipping, while Ticketmania does not, so take that amount into consideration in your overall price. If you belong to AAA and have a local office, you can probably get them there for close to the same price.

Hope you have a nice trip! I will be there 10/4-11 :p !

First, welcome to the Boards, you will find so much helpful information on these and believe it or not.... you will get addicted, so be careful. :p
I recommend trying Priceline for your hotel. You should be able to keep it under $50/night using Priceline.
The tickets, I can't help you with, I have never bought a 5 day PHP. (unfortunatly)
The Halloween thing..... I wouldn't think it would matter too much as far as what day. I know I am one of the few to say this, but I personally didn't think it was worth the extra money for this. To each his own as far as what you would put your money into, but I don't think I personally would spend the money on this again. It was neat, but just not worth it to me and my twins who were 8 at the time. I guess it just didn't leave animpression with me much. I would rather take that money and go to an awesome Disney waterpark, or something else. Especially if I had a 5 day PHP anyway. But again, I am one of the few- I know.
Oh, and October is a wonderful time to go. They just aren't too busy then. Weather is (usually) great and with no crowds, its just "easy". We try and go to Florida every Oct. Last year was our first Disney cruise, (highly recommended by the way) and this year we're just going to Marco Island and relaxing. I'll miss Disney, but we're trying to save for a 7 night DCL Cruise next year during that week. HAVE FUN!! ENJOY!!

Also try Expedia.com for hotels. They have a few 3 stars for around $50.

What day is best for the Mickeys Holloween- Fri or Sun?

Definately Sunday. Both wil probably be busy but, Sunday you will have less locals with kids having school the next day.

I would disagree! Although this will be my first MNSSHP, I have been to MVMCP. I have a 3 year old so we only stayed till about 9:30 or 10:00, but I still felt is was worth the money! I would highly recommend these parties. You have to do it at least once. Then you decide if it is worht doing it again. Have a great time either way!

We went to MNSSHP for the first time 2 years ago, when the children were, 11, 5, 2(turned 3 just after the land portion) and we stayed until 11:50. I was great fun.

We did MVMCP last year and it was good, but not as good as MNSSHP. I think people get disapointed when they expect to ride a lot of the MK rides with little or no wait. Sometimes that's the case and sometimes it's not. We got "stuck" by the second parade and "had" to ride BTMR about 5 times in a row with no wait. Boo hoo! That's just horrible! :)

If you ride rides during one of the parades you can get through several.

Don't miss the parade. The ride of the Headless Horseman is fantastic. (Remember this is Mickey's *Not So Scary* Halloween Party.) I fact, my DH had the Headless Horseman as is wall paper. Very cool.

I could go on and on, Mickey's Partys are wonderful!

I agree that Sunday would be better than Friday.

Welcome to the boards!

Hotwire Savings Club has 5 day plus passes ( I know you don't NEED the plus but you may find it a good thing if you are planning to be there 8-9 days) Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have great kids areas and might make a fun day when you don't do the parks. Not sure but think the admission is about $34 for an adult to the water parks so this could add a big value to your tickets.
Hotwire savings club prices
Adult 236.76
Child 188.84 ages 3-9
They sell the breakfast passes for 17.75 These prices include the tax and there are no shipping charges.
You can join for a 1 month trial period and then cancel if you don't want to use any of the other serices.

You could check with Rosa at Paramount but when I ordered 7 day PHP passes she said the breakfast passes came with the 6 or 7 day passes only. I think this sometimes changes and it doesn't seem to show up on the website.

We did the MNSSHP last year with teens - It was packed and we got to ride everything we wanted to because so many families were there with smaller children who were into the trick or treat and picture taking stations and weren't doing the rides. I even heard one cast member commenting on this fact and how strange it seemed. That made me think maybe other years it was not the case.We got stuck by Pecos Bill Cafe when the parade was going through and did not have the pleasure of that "horrible" experience with BTMR as the OP did. Did enjoy the fireworks which we watched wihle walking from Splash Mountain to Haunted Mansion - a whole different view from our usual places to watch.
Haven't decided if we will do it again this year.
Several people I know have had good luck with Hotelkingdom and some even got suites or 1 BR units for $66 a night at Cypress Poiinte or Wyndam Palms and Golf Resort and figured that by eating most breakfasts in the room it saved enough on food to cover the cost over the original 50-55 they had planned on.
Country Inn and Suites also has a good rate on hotel kingdom and it includes a breakfast buffet each morning - I think the rate with taxes will be right around $50. It has gotten good comments in the past. Maybe you should check out the resort board and ask for comments on a couple of the places that look good to you.

Don't forget to add in 11.5% hotel tax when you are looking
Good luck with your planning and hope you will have wonderful trip. We will be back 6 days before you get there.
