Well - we are finally able to think about our next DVC trip, and it will be either late October or early November or 2005.

We stayed at SSR for our first DVC trip this past may and loved it. It is our "home", but we want to try them all. So, if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to plan our next one, please feel free.

Place : Either VWL or Beach Club

Obviously we are going to hit the parks, but we also want to go to the Funai Golf Tournament, and The Food and Wine Festival

We love the Wilderness Lodge, and the golf course would be close to the Villas.

But - for the Food and Wine festival - the Beach Club or Boardwalk would be prime!

We are leaning towards the Beach Club / Boardwalk because we have not stayed there before and would love to be that close to Epcot for all the activities and Illuminations.

Our plan is to book 11 months out at Saratoga and then at the 7 month window try to get one of the Epcot resorts. We will either waitlist or try VWL.

Whatever happens - just being in WDW again will be great!!!!

It's so much fun just planning - the only problem is a year of anticipation is enough to drive one crazy!!!!!

Eric, I love planning my DVC trips long term too!!!!! We own at BCV and made our first trip home last March! We only stayed 3 nights and then went on to Clearwater for a few nights. It was fantastic!!! We just recently decided to make a quicky trip down in October as the kids have a 4 day weekend. We callled about a month ago and got a 2 bedroom at OKW. We are looking forward to it and hope to try all of the resorts in time. Now, I am dreaming of a Thanksgiving trip for 05 BUT we don't have enough points. We are trying to decide add-on, rent, stay non-DVC, ect..... It is fun planning, I love to have a few trips, WDW and others, in the planning stages at all times!!!! Lacee

In Oct. 02 we stayed at the BCV. Attended both the FUNAI and F&W. The "pro" to staying at BCV is that you can easily walk to Epcot for the F&W! Too easy.
The golf tournament is always the same weekend. If you decide to you in November, you'll miss it. It is fun for those who enjoy golf. For the golf tournament, we drove our car to a special parking lot and they brought you over in busses to the tournament. Not too bad. Just follow the rules about what you can and can not bring to the golf tournament. They are serious!!

This year we're staying at VWL and plan on going to F&W, FUNAI, and MNSSHP!!! It will be easier to get to the tournament, not as convenient to the F&W. It really is too close to call. I'll let you know how it goes when we get back!

That is one of the best things about DVC - the flexibility. Sometimes it is too hard to make a decision!! Good luck with yours!

I love to long term plan with our points... it helps me keep track of them....

What weekend in Oct is the Golf tourney? My husband would get a kick outta it.

Planning is at least half the fun! :p
We are going to BCV in Dec for 4 nights, and BWV next Feb.
We only purchased our first points this summer, and I am really enjoying planning future trips.
We should have purchased DVC years ago, as we took out 3 kids there every winter for about 15 years. During that time, I hated my job and looking forward to WDW was all that kept me sane.
Better late then never!

By the way, how do you set up your count-down clock on this site? That looks like fun too.

Laurabearz: Look like your DH is in luck - the golf tournament this year is Oct. 21 - 24, and you'll be at WDW! It is not real expensive to get a one day pass. And I think, if I remember right, DVC gets a discount. Don't hold me to that. If you enjoy watching golf, it is fun to see all the folks you see playing on TV up close! They play on the Palm and Magnolia courses. These are the ones where Shades of Green is located.

T Swift: go to the technical board and there is a link to setting up your countdown counter. Even I can do it, so it is really easy!!

Is it always the third weekend in Oct... This Oct we are way to busy with MNNSHP, HHN, F&W, meeting freind for a Grand gather cruise, IllumNations cruise etc....

But Oct 2005 is doable!

It has been for the last several years. That of course is always subject to change!

DH is actually going to be a volunteer this year. He is really looking forward to doing that. It keeps him off of "Jungle Cruise"!
:teeth:

You may want to include it in next years plans.

We went to the Funai last October and had a blast. We followed Mickelson & Singh (the eventual winner) was the group behind Phil. Anyway - I think it is the 3rd weekend in October, same every year as the PGA schedules the events.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge and just took the bus to the ticket & transportation center - walked through the Polynesian resort and then came out and walked up to the course. We went the first day and went to the Magnolia course. If memory serves me - they split the players between Magnolia and the Palms. We love golf!!!!

But - The Food & Wine Festival also has a real strong pull for us. So.....probably will depend on if either resort has availability at the 7 month window. If not - who cares.............we are still in Disney.

Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions!!!!
Eric
