Planning last day at DLH

Hi - We are staying at the DLH from July 6-12 and have scheduled a free day for our last day. My plan was that we'd have breakfast at PCH (to say "goodbye" to Mickey and Minnie), do a little shopping at DTD, and spend any remaining time at the DLH pool before heading to the airport for our 5:45 pm flight.

I have been making a lot of assumptions and I figured I should ask some of my questions just to be sure (and because you know what "they" say about making assumptions).

Does the hotel grant requests for late check-outs? If yes, do I need to do this now or when we check in or on the day of check out?

I've been assuming that we'll have to check out at 11 am and that we'll be able to store our bags with the bellhop until departure. If we head to the pool, is there somewhere convenient to change into swimwear and store our street clothes (e.g., a locker) or will we need to plan on checking those in and out with the bellhop? Is there any place to rinse off by the pool before we head out to the airport?

I've been figuring that we need to be on the DLE no later than 3:15-3:30 pm to make sure that we arrive at the airport with plenty of time.

This is our first time to DLR so any other input would be great! Thanks!

They don't need to know about late check out until you arrive. Whether they grant it or not will be based on capacity. July is peak.

They'll hold your bags for you.

I think planning to leave DLH at 3:15 or 3:30 for a 5:30 flight out of LAX is too late. You could probably call DLE to find out what time they recommend, but I'm guessing it would be more like 2:30. It seems like we left at least 3 hours before our flight.

I don't remember the restroom setup at DLH, but I do remember that getting bags from storage took awhile. I think it would be pretty inconvenient to store your bags, then try to go get something out of them, then store them again, then get them again. You could do it, but you would need to plan on some time to get the bags.

For late checkout, try calling as early in the morning as you can, like 6am. They will only have a limited number they can give out, especially on a Saturday. My experience has been that they won't tell you anything until the day of, so requesting it earlier than that may not help a lot. Although it never hurts to try.

At the DLH there is a restroom not far from the check in counter, just around to the other side of the store. Also we found that getting our bags wasn't all that bad from bell hop, maybe if you can store your pool side stuff in a easy to recognize bag it would be easy for bell hop to just grab that one bag for you?

I agree with this. LA traffic can be bad, even on Saturdays. You still need to get through security.
