Planning July 2005 - Poly

We are in the planning stages for our July 2005 WDW trip. Everyone wants to stay at the Poly, but with talk about some major renovations to the GCH and a few Longhouses, it has us concerned. From what I can find on the Internet, the contruction has not stated yet and there is no specific date of when it will begin or how long it will take. We don't want to spend that kind of money on our dream resort if there is a lot of contrsruction going on. What would you do?

We are booked for Poly concierge, for July 2005. Hawaii (concierge building) has been recently renovated so it will not be disrupted. You can find which longhouses have been recently renovated on other web-sites, if that helps. Beach and pools will not be affected. Don't think that all the restaurants can be affected at one time, so I'm not that concerned.

It's not the longhouse renovations that have us concerned. It's the major tranformation of the GCH. With everthing they are talking about doing, I can't see how it will not be disruptive. Moving all of the gift shops to the front and expanding Captain Cooks while not taking away from the beauty during construction of the GCH will be a feat in itself. I just can't vision it with construction walls and detours around things.
