Hi! Okay, this might be a silly question, but what exactly is a planning journal, and when do you start it? Is there a certain formula to use or anything? I've read a bunch of people talking about PJs but I don't really know what they are. Thanks!

I don't think there is any set formula for a planning journal, although the mods have asked a few things of us... those rules can all be found here:

There's a link in my signature to mine... I started it a while ago, and we're still 18 months away. Other people start them sooner than that, most later. You being four months out should be able to write a lot about what you're doing!

It's usually just a place to post information about your wedding, get ideas about things, show off pictures of your dress, flowers, invites, etc... and vent when needed. There's a link to mine in my signature.

Hope this helped!

Yup, like Pumbaa said, it's basically what it sounds like... a place for you to record all of the thoughts and ideas that you have for your wedding, or just describe what you're doing. It's a great way to give inspiration to other couples and also by reading others you can get some really good ideas. It's helped me a lot to post about "hey, I can't decide whether my bridesmaids should wear black shoes or silver, what do you think looks better with this color dress?" You know, stuff no one else really cares about except other people getting married!

And yeah, when you need to vent or rant, it's a good place for that too, and you'll be talking you other people who understand exactly what you're going through.
