Planning help for February trip

We'll be at DLR staying at GCH from 2/2 through 2/8. We just decided to add on a day and go to Universal. We're trying to decide if we should go mid-week (so keep GCH as homebase and add a day's stay) or if we should leave DLR as planned early in the 8th, go to universal on that Sunday and check in to a hotel that night before flying home on the 9th.

Between the 2, our universal day would be either a Thursday or a Sunday, and our disney days would either be a Tuesday through Saturday or a Tuesday, Wednesday and then Friday - Sunday in the park.

Does anyone have any advice?

If its me, I'm finishing my trip with a Disney day. That's what I want to remember and go out on.

We went late Feb a couple of years ago, boy was it warm(nice) and have done USH numerous times..I would just keep my base at DLR and do USH mid week. Just my thoughts

The drive between Disneyland and Universal can be long, especially if you're dealing with rush hour mid week traffic. I'd rather make that drive only once and not twice (there and back again). Just my two cents.

I've been questioning the same thing - we are going to be there the week before 1/26-1/31, we are going to do DL/DCA for sure Mon/Tues, then Wed going to LA to see a hockey game, so Thursday I was mulling between DL and Universal, Friday going to be short day at DL another hockey game Friday night. So wondering if I just should do 3 day hopper where 3rd day is short or do 4-day hopper to make sure we get to do everything. P.S. I am sure this will be our one and only time going to DL - California

I think I lean towards mid-week as well, so the end of the trip is in DL. That's a good point! I'm not too worried about the commute. We're considering taking Amtrak or the metroline (I think that's what it's called?) instead of driving (though I can't find much info on how easy taking public transportation between DL and USH is so that hasn't been decided yet.)

I'd do DL if I were you. I've read that USH is easily done in one day, and I can tell you from experience that DL could easily eat up 3 full days. Then you could have that last short day to ride your favorites.

I'd do USH mid-week as well and stick with the GCH for the entire trip. USH can easily be done in one day and as others have stated, end your trip at DL. We will be at GCH during some of the same days you will be there. Can't wait!

I looked into shuttles from GCH to Universal but have never done it.I read that Grey Line will take you from there and back .Their package includes the admission ticket and cost something like $25 over the cost of the admission ticket alone. here`s another one.

I would call Universal and ask for referrals
