Planning for the "next one"?

Wait until you buy into DVC - then you'll be planning your "next" WDW trips for the next 40-50 years! :cheer2:

We don't leave for our Jan. trip for another month or so, and I just locked up our reservation at the Swan for Dec.-2006. I'm still juggling the ADR's for the January trip, and I still have a bit of time before the window opens on the ADR's for Dec.

I think these two trips, however, are likely to be quite different. Jan. is a family trip with the kids and Grandma; Dec. will be the 10th anniversary with just me and DW. I think my first ADR on that trip will be the Luau at Poly, and the window opens up in a week or so.

Even so, these trips seem to be interacting a bit more than usual from a planning perspective. I ended up getting an AP for me since we had enough left-over days on PH passes for my wife, my mom and one of the kids for the December trip. The AP should cover me for both trips and also opens access to the DDE program. I think the $50 price will be more than made up for two or three days into the January trip; we have a group of six traveling in January.

I used Starwood points to book the December stay and plan to use FF miles for air transport (assuming Delta is still in business at that point :sad1: ). I'll have the AP for my park admissions. We'll have to pick-up a ticket for DW. Otherwise, this may be the least expensive trip to WDW that I've ever done. Nice thing is it gives me a little more budget to play with for fun surprises for my DW for our anniversary.

Any suggestions on that score are welcome, although I'd prefer that you PM them to me; otherwise, I'd feel like I hijacked the thread. If I get responses, I'll post a new thread with the collection of ideas.

We just booked for Jan 2006. This will be our 3rd trip in 18mnths. We have also been on a Disney cruise. I would love to plan another one as soon as this one's done. I don't know what DH would think...

I hope to be able to keep my part time job once the holidays are over so maybe I can convince him to go for it. I started this job specifically to save for Disney trips.

We would love to go again in Dec 2006 with the kids. Either that or January 2007.

I am so glad to know that I am not the only one in the same frame of mind as the OP.

Trust me. I know what you are feeling. Already planning for the next trip, which is not until next November. Time flies though and your trip will be here before you know it.

Plus, it gives you plenty of time to plan on what you want to do (special events, tours, etc), decide on where you want to dine (now that PS's are 180 days out to book) and so on. Another plus is that it gives me 12 months to pay the trip off a little at a time. This helps alot. That way it's not this big chunk of $$ close to the trip and it also allows me to start saving for souvies & stuff! :sunny:

WOW! I am always amazed at how many times I read that. I find it hard to stay excited about the current one I am planning knowing I am not promised a tomorrow, and I would find it really difficult to get excited about one that is so far off.

I guess I am just not as big of a Disney buff as you guys. I love Disney, but I guess you all have more passion than me. :guilty:

I'm guilty as well. We leave in 9 days for this years trip and I already have next years MNSSHP trip booked. I'm also lobbying for a mid spring trip for the flower festival, but I don't know if DFi will go for it, so it's still on hold.

Those are on sale already? I thought they did not become available until the August before? WOW!! :earseek:

On our last trip, we got settled in our rooms, put the kids to bed and were sitting on our balcony overlooking the BW and I told my husband I was sad because it seemed like the trip was over! We had just arrived hours before. I honestly thought my mild-mannered, never-angry-a-day-in-his-life husband was going to throw me off the balcony. He almost had smoke coming out of his ears. Keeping those thoughts to myself next time!

We leave in a few weeks for WDW and I think I'm already over it ;) . I'm already more excited planning the trip for next year! Is anyone else like this?! I think I need therapy or maybe just never actually go to WDW just keep planning (I could save a lot of money this way :teeth: ).

borrowing points for next July so we can go again to a Grand Villa for our family and sil, bil and cousins.... NO way are you alone in this....
