Hi everyone,

I haven't been to Disneyland in 20 years, since I was a kid. This will be my first time going as an adult, and my husband and I will be bringing our 2.5 yr old daughter.

We want to travel on a Wed-Sun, and hit DL for 3 days: Thu, Fri, and Sat.

We were originally looking at the week/end of May 16-May 20 (Wed-Sun) but a friend mentioned that that is some sort of goth weekend where a bunch of goths all show up to roam the park. (?) A quick internet search did yield a website that validated her claim.

Not sure if this would be thousands of additional people in the park at that time, we then started tentatively looking at the following week/end which is May 23-May 27 (Wed-Sun). Now, I just realized that is Memorial Day weekend and my DH is saying he's not sure he wants to go then now.

I don't think I want to take a 2 yr old to DL during June, July, or August (is it really that crowded and hot??)

So my question.. is anyone familiar with this "goth weekend" - how many show up and is it enough to impact the lines for our child? And second q: how busy is Memorial Day weekend going to be there?? If you had to choose one weekend, which would you choose?

Help! Thanks in advance from a semi-newbie!

This goth weekend is called Bats Day and is on the Sunday so you will miss it going the earlier week.

Oh ok, good to know then that we would miss that! Thank you!

Anyone with any opinions on Memorial Day weekend? My husband said he expects it to be "crazy" then, but I reminded him that we would not be there on Sunday or Monday on Memorial Day, but Thu-Sat.. not sure if that makes a difference?

It's not going to be crazy, but this is my perception. If you haven't been on a very busy day, busy days will seem crazy.

Memorial Day Weekend will only be mildly busier than the first weekend. Very few schools are out and most people do not take vacations that weekend. It's not a big deal in regards to crowding issues.

Oh gosh, we were going on the 16th :(. I also see that is a Grad night- would it be better to go earlier in the week instead?
