Good day to you all!

I am in the process of planning my third holiday to WDW for January 2014 & I'm looking for a bit of advice, but first a tiny bit of background to get the ball rolling.

A few months ago it dawned on me that my family and I have never taken a a holiday together. When I was a small child we did do a few week-long excursions to the beach (and probably not since 1990 or so), about an hour north of where we live, but apart from that, nothing! Money was always tight back in those days, and holidays were well, quite rightfully, not much of a priority for my family. My mother worked hard to raise her two girls, & plus she's about to celebrate a milestone - her 60th birthday! I thought it was high time that I'd like to give a a small token of my appreciation, and I mean really, what would be better than a holiday to WDW? :)

I will be footing pretty much the entire bill (I may soon ask sis if she would mind contributing a bit toward the food fund) so I really do need a good plan to ensure that I won't be going over budget. My budget will allow me to either rent at a moderate or to rent points through a DVC owner. On my honeymoon we stayed at POR & earlier this year rented DVC points & stayed at AKL Kidani. I am definitely leaning toward a DVC rental (likely a studio) as I would like them both to experience a more "resort" feel, plus we'll I'm fairly confident we'll be spending a lot of time at the resort, so a variety of amenities are an important consideration!

I would also like, but realize it may not be possible, to minimize the walking distance to our actual room. Mom is in pretty good shape, but after an afternoon or evening of walking throughout the parks I know she'll be spent.
Oh and very importantly, we will not have a car, and will be relying exclusively on bus transportation. My sister and I would be fine standing, but I think it would be important for Mom to be seated when the bus is in motion.

So in a nutshell I'm looking for a DVC with plenty of amenities, and ideally located on the first bus stop to the parks. What would you recommend as a best bet for two early-thirtysomethings (I'm 30, sis is 32) & a 60 year old?

Your help/advice would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

I'd stay in a standard room with 3 adults before a studio unless you go with OKW. The studio set up is only 1 bed and a pullout sofa

What if you went with VWL or BLT to at least ease the transportation to MK? I'd really try for a 1BR though not a studio if you can swing it. WL will give you the most compact deluxe and it's beautiful so I'd more than likely go there. If paying for a mod I'd stay at POFQ since it's smaller and not as spread out as the others.
