I'm in the beginning process of planning my FDH and my Disneymoon. I have been to Disney many times before and have planned many trips with my mom. I didn't know if there if there is anything I should know about planning a honeymoon that's different from planning a regular Disney trip?

I'm currently in the car riding back from DH's and my Disneymoon. (So sad. ;( ) I used to be a local and did WDW many times, but this was DH's first trip.

The only things I did differently, other than actually plan because I never had to before, were call Disney Dining to note our celebration (got us the grey stuff at BOG and confetti/dessert at California Grill, but hardly a congrats at the other restaurants-- YMMV), request and wear the Happily Ever After buttons (got us lots of congrats from CMs and other guests), and on two of our four days, wore the bride/groom Mickey ear hats. The one cute 'perk' we got from that was at the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway where the CM let us in to the front of the line and gave our car a Just Married sign (again, YMMV).

Just being on a honeymoon is awesome because even when it's crowded it feels like there's only the two of you in the world. Definitely adds to the magic! Congrats and have fun. :)

We just got back from our Disneymoon too and I agree, schedule some special things you wouldn't ordinarily do. Our situation was a little different because we had our 6 and 7 year old daughters with us, but we still fit in lots of magic. The morning before the wedding we all had breakfast in Cinderella's castle. One night we went on an illuminations fireworks cruise which was amazing. Our last day there we did the Pirate's League and got turned into a family of pirates for the Not-so-Scary Halloween party that night. It was my DH's first time at Disney too so it was extra special watching him experience everything for the first time. Also, have fun with the photo pass people. Many of them took lots of extra time for funny shots of my DH and I (like exchanging our Mickey ears and turning my DH into a blushing bride). It was such a blast. You will have an amazing time.

We went to Disney every year with DH's family but since my mom had DVC, she gave us her points as a wedding present and we went to WDW for our honeymoon :-)

We did things we wouldnt do on a normal trip. We made expensive dinner reservations, like at Shula's and the Yachtsman Steakhouse. We had a bottle of wine at every dinner. We scheduled the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot, the Behind the Scenes tour at Animal Kingdom, and a carriage ride at Port Orleans. We also did surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon. And we set up the honeymoon registry online so those who came to my bridal shower and wedding could pay for the things we were doing in WDW as a gift. It was the best vacation we ever had!
