Ughh! I know you need an ADR for TS meals even in January but sometimes its so stressful to plan so far ahead. Who knows the type of food we will want that day (breakfast buffet is the safe bet) Who knows how well behaved my DD3 will be after a day in the parks for a Dinner TS..I still have 2 TS ADR to make and its stressing me out! DH says to wing it but I dont want to end up somewhere we don't like because that's all that was available that day..Ok sorry for the rant..I will move on now. :rotfl:

Heck, I'm 3 days away and stressed out about it. I have no idea what I want to eat tomorrow, let alone 3-7 days from now!

I have been so many times to WDW and love it. However, now with dining planning is SOOOO stressful that last yr I made myself sick LITERALLY. We have taken two yrs off. Vacation is time off not a strategic planned manuveur.:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

To the contrary, I find it lots of fun and look forward to it.

Me, too! I know...it's sick, but I love all the strategizing and arranging. It makes me feel like I'm getting closer to my vacation when I'm making my ADRs. I get to do just that in a few days (yes, my ticker is off..we had to move our vacation around a bit)!! Woohoo...12 nights of DDP to organize!! I love it!! :cool1:

You don't need to be on the line at 6:59 am EST 180 days out from your trip in order to have a great dining experience at WDW. For those who know that far in advance they're taking a trip (usually we don't) and like that kind of planning, more power to you! We have been able to get ADRs that we're happy with a few months out. Except for signature, package, and character meals, if your plans change, you can call and cancel with no penalty. No sense getting overly worked up over a vacation!

We just booked the trip 2 weeks ago so I am definitely not a 180 days out person..

I have 4 TS and 1 Bibbidi Bobbidi resv and I am not planning anymore! We are going the slowest possible time of year and I plan to relax and enjoy with DH, DD12 & DD3 not worry about making reservations here there and everywhere my whole vacation. Not to mention getting through Thanksgiving and Christmas before we start thinking about our trip

To the contrary, I find it lots of fun and look forward to it.

Same here.

And I don't get the argument of "I don't know what I want to eat tonight much less 180 days from now". I'm not trying to be rude, really, but I don't get it. You know what sorts of food you like and every menu has a varied selections (steak vs chicken vs fish vs pasta). It is not like you have to decide on exactly what you want to order.

But then again, I am one of those who plans their meals at home a month at a time usually.

I don't find the actual booking part stressful-still lots of available for when we're going - but I am stressing like the OP in that we have no idea what it will be like once we actually get there!!! We love to eat, but will there be too many distractions and other things to do, other than eat??! Now with the 24 hour cancellation policy, I'm more concerned about having charges due to not cancelling at least 24 hours in advance...I understand the policy, but with a 3 year-old....things can change pretty quickly!!
