Planning days

My DH, myself, 22 year old son and 17 year old daughter will be arriving late Saturday, December 8th and departing Monday the 17th. I'll be purchasing 8 day base tickets because we have never park hopped. On previous trips we'be done two and a half days at MK, two days at Epcot and one day each at HS and AK. If we stick to that same schedule, we'll have one extra day for somewhere. We are not doing the Christmas party because it's so costly and no one in the family has expressed interest. Our MK days are all party days with a 6PM close but we may use the half day for an evening at MK on a non party day for fireworks. Would you use the extra day for AK or HS? Our last trip was May, 2016 so we've not seen Pandora or Toy Story. Thanks for all opinions!!!!

I would wait and see how things go at the parks - is there something you want to do again? Use it there! I also might see how my FP selections go. If you can't get FOP or a TS ride you want until that day, then use it on that park. Do you all prefer EE, Pandora, Dinosaur, Safari, or ToT/RnR? AK has more stuff to do, but HS has some great thrill rides. TS land might be one and done for your group because of the age range.

We would want to do Flight of Passage twice without long waits, so we would do two days at Animal Kingdom.

You could just do 7 day tickets with a day at Disney Springs or a resort day at your hotel. If you feel like you need the 8 day tickets you could just wait and play it by ear. We personally hardly even do a full day at AK so I couldn't imagine two days there. I also couldn't imagine two days at HS though either.
