Planning an affordable trip with the DPs

We have 170 developer points to expire by Oct 3rd. As much as I'd love to visit Disneyland, tix to LAX from the midwest are expensive. Disney world's nice because of the ME and the cheap fares to MCO.

what's the best way to do WDW cheap?

And does anyone know how long I can wait to deposit the DPs into RCI in case our WDW trip never works out?

Has anyone planned a spur of the moment kind of WDW trip?

We opted to use our DP at WDW also since we already had APs. So we booked for Sept.
We also used airline miles for free air. Our only real expense will be food and we do have a TiW card, so that will help.

Can't wait.
Not sure about the rci stuff since we have no interest in it.
