We are already talking about doing the 4 or 7 cruise sometime in 2006.

I have no problem taking the kids out of school if we need to.
Are holidays usually busier and more costly?

What is the weather like for a cruise in December or January? Too cold to hit the water at Castaway Cay?

I am trying to plan it so we buy AP for a few days after the cruise at WDW, and then use the APs again for a trip before they expire.

Any help would be much appreciated.

We went in January and the weather was great. 80's temp wise, high 70's on CC. Water was beautiful we swam at each port including CC. No worries there. We went on the Jan 10 Eastern. I suggest going for the 7 day. Have fun!

Hi Chim Chiminy! Holidays are usually more expensive than non holidays...If you have no problem taking the kids out of school, that is what i would do. The savings for booking early and non holiday can be very large. I've never went in Jan, usually go in October.

I too, would choose the 7 day!!

Good luck!

I also am going to take the kids out of school to go, feb, sept, or nov 06 just waiting for the new dates. MUMpirate: pirate: pirate:

Thanks everyone.

I had thought that maybe we could go before or after a holiday, like thanksgiving or Christmas. That way we would get the school holidays and take them out for a few extra days.

I want to combine the cruise with a couple days at Vero, then perhaps two or three days in Orlando.

Does that sound doable?

Since we are DVC members, I am thinking about renting our points out for cash, using some for vero. And then just paying cash for our stay in Orlando. Not sure if we would do WDW or Universal.
