Looking for suggestions on what to do to have a great christmas away from home.

I have long dreamed about Christmas with Mickey. Well it is within sight. My sister booked us a 2BR at WVL from 12/22-12/27. So it is 7 of us DH, DS (12), DS(10), myself and then my sister Katie, her DH and DD(11).

Priority seating windows are next week so those suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks, Kim

We are going to take a sleigh ride at the WL and go to different hotels to look at the decorations, see the tree lighting at Epcot(every night at 6:00) and listen the different Santa's tell stories in the different countries.

Well hello from a former LIer. Formerly of Riverhead and now from Cape Cod, Ma.

I was not aware of the sleigh rides that sounds really nice. We have decided I think, to have xmas eve dinner (late lunch) at Le Cellier. My sis raves about the cheddar cheese soup.

I read online today about the ICE event at Gaylord Palms. That also looks really neat.

You mentioned priority seating windows, so I assume you want some restaurant suggestions? If you do, I reccomend Le Cellier in Epcot. We ate there on Christmas Eve a few years ago, and it was magical! :cloud9:

I visit Disney in early December :santa: annually to miss the crowds and stay at WLV as I am a DVC owner at WLV. Here are my must sees for the parks. The Candlelight Processional at EPCOT's American Pavilion is wonderful. A guest narrator (celebrity John Tesh, Gary Sinise, Eartha Kit) reads the Christmas story from the Gospel according to Luke and a 400 member choir sing Christmas carols with a 50 piece orchestra accompanying them. It is spectacular and not to be missed. At MGM don't miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Light. Hit one of the tree lighting ceremonies at MK or EP at 6:00 sharp every night. Check out the decorations at GF, Poly and CR via the monorail from MK one afternoon. The gingerbread house at the GF is so big that CMs sell hot chocolate and cookies from the window. As far as the lodge - soak in all the magic of the decorations and the cozy warm fireplaces. Each evening at 7:00 there will be music of some sort, guitars, bell choirs, etc. Take a carriage ride over to the campground and do visit the campgrounds to check out all the RVs decked out with Disney Christmas decorations. As far as ADRs, my favorite restaurant is Le Cellier at EPCOT. Also try Whispering Canyon right at the lodge as it is a real hoot. In addition, I enjoy Mama Melrose at MGM and I highly recommend that you do a Fantasmic Package at Mama's at that time of year as I think it is the only way you'll see the show which is also one of my must sees. Have a great Christmas vacation!

With your party size please make those ADRs on the first day. I even make ones for some I think I might use then fine tune. Also don't forget to eat at least one breakfast at WCC. I know you have a 2 br, but breakfast at WCC is great. We stay at VWL once or twice a year and it's my DH favorite place. Since you can do the 180+ I usually ask, which night has the best time for LeCellier first instead of trying to get it on one particular day, then I backfill the rest of my ADRs. Since EMH and park hours don't matter to us, we have a bit more flexibility than most folks.

Thank you for all the advice. We were leaning towards LeCellier just because we thought it might be a little bit more "traditional". We are also reading up on the ICE exhibit at Gaylord Palms. It looks cool, excuse the pun. Has anyone been?
