We've been to WDW twice, both times I had over 9 months to plan...schedule...replan...reschedule. Well my husband and I decided to book a last minute trip this summer and surprise our girls. We leave in 6 weeks. As excited as I am to be going back to my most favorite place in the world I feel a little sick from knowing how much I now have to do/plan in 6 weeks. It'll be okay. Deep breaths.

Breathe!!! You are going to be fine. We often make plans at the last minute and it usually works out. FP and ADRs. Just do a little at a time.

Nine months of planning? I'd go crazy from the anticipation. The longest amount of planning I've ever had for a WDW vacation is six weeks. And even that seems like an eternity.

I would say make sure to try and get it right the first time. As you won't have a lot of time to reschedule too much you'll want to make sure you have a general idea of what you want to do. Also make sure to keep those ideas realistic, scratching the things off your list you know right away won't be doable/bookable in 6 weeks will relieve a ton of stress. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

You'll be MORE than okay!! 6 weeks is plenty of time!! ADR's would be the biggest issue and just be chill when it comes to that.
I always start by looking at hours/emh and comparing to crowd calendars to pick what parks what days.
Then add in adrs/fp's to that schedule, and if some things that you want aren't available, just keep checking until they are!
Don't stress and everything will be fine!

Last summer I planned a trip in 2 weeks - turned out to be our best trip yet!

Don't worry! We did this very thing this summer, but 30 days out! It was a great trip. We went with two 8 yo's so we spent a lot of time in MK in the evenings and good deal of time at the pool in the afternoons.

If you go with the thinking that anything you get will be great and awesome just from getting to be there in the first place, the rest falls into place.

I felt like I got some great ADR's too. 3 character meals, but nothing at BOG or the Castle. Would have been nice but we knew going in there were some things we couldn't do. Honestly, nowadays it seems if you aren't on the computer at your 180 days even that is a crapshoot months out. So, it didn't really matter.

Remember the things you want to do most and change up the vacation a little. You will have a great time!

You'll be fine! I planned a trip for early June of this year, specifically for SWW, in just FOUR weeks and everything came together A-OK. ADR's, special events, FP+...even a discount on the hotel room! Honestly, it was kind of fun to accomplish everything I set out to do and not have to wait for six months or a year for the trip to roll around.

Also, FWIW, I'm going in six weeks, too, and have been playing around with ADR's. With the exception of a few places, I'm seeing pretty good availability if TS restaurants are what you're looking for. Have fun planning! :woohoo:

6 weeks? No problem... You can do it! I planned one of our trips in 3 weeks and it was the best trip ever! I was nervous too b/c I usually plan at least 4 months in advance.
Just take a deep breath and get going! Have a great time!:cool1:

I got all the ADRs I wanted except my beloved chef mickey's but that is okay. I am a little disappointed to see Magic Kingdom is closing at 7 on Labor Day though
