Which would you choose? None of have ever been to Disney, and as far as my kids are concerned they think that it's not even going to happen for a few more years lol. I do have to consider how much time will be off for school, I will have a kindergartner and an 8th grader that's enrolled in an intense magnet school. My husband and I are trying to make this as magical as possible since we probably won't go again for a few years after this.

The idea of dressing up for Halloween sounds really fun, but I'm worried we would have to take a shorter trip. Christmas is The Dream, but I've heard how horrible the crowds can be. So if you had one chance to have the best, most cost efficient time of your life which would you choose?

I've attended the Halloween party and it was amazing; the parade, decorations, characters in costume, trick or treating... I could go on.

I haven't, yet, attending the Christmas party so I am unable to provide you with any personal experience.

My thought would be the school schedule/missing school and how much time you're comfortable with. Also, late September into October is really hot in FL. Are you, and your family, comfortable with FL temperatures?

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions, I am a TA.

Welcome!
So I have never been to WDW during Halloween but this December will be my third trip during the Christmas season and I love it. The Christmas party is really cool your 8th grader will love being able to get on rides that normally have long wait times a lot quicker and your youngest will love the snow on main street and cookies!

If you can go early December you won't have to worry about the crowds as much but I understanding getting the time off school isn't easy, I'm a new teacher but currently subbing so I still have some freedom.

I too love the Christmas party. We went to Halloween this year and loved it, but the Christmas party can't be beat. Like others mentioned, the lines are ridiculously short and you can ride pretty much anything you want right away. Plus seeing the snowfall, lights, and the parade makes it worth the money and then some. Last year was my first year and I'm going to try to make it every year going forward.

We have been to WDW three times around Halloween and it is fantastic! From a best bang for the buck standpoint Halloween is the way to go. Rates are cheaper everywhere and the crowds are much smaller. We've been to the MK on days when the crowds were 10 out of 10 and while it is always fun crowds that large can certainly try your patience (think 60 min plus standby waits for everything). We've never been the week before Christmas but I understand it's a little better than the week between Christmas and New Years. You're going to have a blast whenever you go but if you are looking to maximize your Disney dollars it's hard to beat October at WDW (you also can see the food and wine festival at Epcot in OCT. as a bonus)!:yay:
