Hey there again friends, so I'm wanting to plan a trip for just myself for my birthday in April for a couple days. How has done this, any recommendations on where in the park I should book, etc. Any thoughts?

:wizard:

Solo trips can be such fun! No one to confer with, get to move at your own pace - I love it! I like to take a lot of pictures, so solo is great whenever I can get away with it...

- ]I would recommend booking by EPCOT, either Swan or Dolphin, for the accessibility to the park. A lot of the restaraunts have bars or grill areas that serve the food that you find at the tables, if you do not like to eat alone, and the nice thing is you will not need an ADR.

- I would also consider doing the Cirque show - rsauer posted earlier that

"The Orlando Fun Ticket store on Palm Parkway near Crossroads Shopping Center offers last minute tickets at half price for Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba."

These tickets are generally available for same day or next day performances. They can be purchased in person only. Our daughter and her husband were able to get $45 tickets in December. "

and there is never a bad seat.

- I love American Idol experience, and on my own would probably watch all 7 shows in a day!

- The tours are awesome! and are great because lots of people take them solo. I recommend the Living Seas, Backstage Magic, any of the Segway Tours, etc.

- Take advantage of single rider lines at Expedition Everest and Test Track.

I hope you have a great time - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :cool1:

I LOVE solo trips!!! They are so relaxing...

My recommendations would be to pick things that YOU want to do that maybe others if you went in a group wouldn't... like tours or restaurants.

Don't worry about eating by your self. Most of the castmembers are really great at making you feel comfortable and will chat with you if they have time.

I just did a four day solo trip in June and it was so wonderful to have the time to myself to do what I wanted, when I wanted. :thumbsup2

I was hoping to stay at the Beach Club or Boardwalk, but couldn't get a reservation there, so I stayed at Saratoga Springs. It was still fantastic and I found out that I actually really liked SSR better than I thought I would!

Have a wonderful time!

The location of the Swan and Dolphin is outstanding. You'd lose out on Magical Express, though, from the airport. You may qualify for the special educator rates at S&D, since you work at an IU. That makes those hotels VERY affordable for what you get.

I do think you get a more "Disney" feel at the other Disney resorts, though.
