Hi! :wave2:

I also posted this on the craft board. I need as many good ideas as I can come up with and if I ever wanted any ideas about "Mickey", I'm sure this is the board to come to! :earboy2:

My youngest son will be turning 2 and we just returned from WDW where he fell in love with the mouse! (He calls him "me-me" :earboy2: ) Naturally the ONLY choice for his b'day party would be a Mickey theme. His party isn't until the end of summer but I like to get head starts on b'day parties so that I have have a nice long time to plan and I don't have to spend the money all at once. What are your ideas? We are really just in the early planning stages so any ideas would be appreciated. I thought we could all wear our Mickey ears and pins and Mickey shirts we got at WDW. I bought some cookies that were Mickey shaped. I bought the invites and plates at a party store and I was looking around dollar stores for Mickey things to put in goody bags (so far I found Mickey pencils) . My boys love "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" that just started coming on the Disney channel and I tape it everytime it comes on so I thought we could play that at the party. Do you know of any places online that would sell good Mickey stuff? I saw some places online are selling some Mickey ears headbands for parties. Does anyone have an experience with these? Just wondering if they are worth it or if I should just buy regular old party hats. Thanks!

We just had our son's 2nd birthday too with a mickey theme! It sounds like the same story...we just went in April and Mickey is all he talks about! My sister used the cardboard ears for a party hat a few years ago. I thought they were nice! She used a metallic pen to put every child's name on them. For THomas' party, I had saved some of the mickey shaped serving plates from our recent trip and I used them to serve some snacks, which happened to be MM shaped graham snack cookies. They sold them at our local grocery store and are sold under the Disney label. I found someone to make coloring books with a Disney theme on E-bay for a favor..cute, but I could have probably made them on my own. I also bought Disney self stampers from ebay too. I found a MM cookie cutter in Disney and was going to bake cookies, but it was so hot and I am 6 months pregnant, so that did not happen! I have seen MM pinatas, which are always a big hit.
I was looking for a pin the nose on Mickey game, but had no luck!
HAve fun planning!

hi Queen,
I hope these idea help..
1- make rice krispy treats like the ones that you would find at Disney. Just make a tray lilke you normally do and get a mickey cookie cutter and cut them out. You can make them small or big and for the girls you can put little bows on the ears.
2- from your trip, take the pictures of your son w/ the mouse and make either the thank you cards or the invitations. Take one of the pictures to your local cvs or duane read or whatever and make them up.. they are so easy to do and not expensive at all.
3- have different themed dishes (to eat on): have animals for the animal kingdom, princess & castle dishes for mk so on and so on.
I can go on and on... I absolutley love planning parties and anything to do w/ them.
:cheer2:

My DS had a Mickey and friends bouncer at his last party. Kids always love to jump in them and it was really cute. You could call around and see if anyone that rents them in your area has a Mickey one.

This site had some good stuff:
Mickeymousepartysupply.com

Good luck.

Not Mickey, but Disney

Pin the tail on Eeyore.

Have a hidden mickey savanger hunt (much like hunting eggs at Easter, but cut out Mickey heads)

My DD is nuts about the mouse and had a MM 4th birthday last December.
My two favorite highlights:

1) Mickey Mouse cupcakes: normal cupcakes frosted with chocolate frosting with two mini Oreos for ears, looked so cute arranged on the platter!

2) Disney's enchanted calls. I set it up so she would get the call during the party and had the phone on speakerphone so everyone could hear. I think it was like $2.99 and you can somewhat personalize the call. Mickey calls and says Hiya Pal, heard you were celebrating your 4th birthday, etc. We then gave her a box full of Mickey themed things we found at the Disney Store along with a card I made that had a picture of Mick and Minnie on the front with a message from the Mouse himself. She still remembers that MM remembered HER birthday!

Have fun! :wizard:

What Fun!

We had just returned from the 14-day Cruise on the Disney Magic for my son's 2nd birthday last year and decided a Disney Cruise theme was in order for his birthday party.

The cake was our biggest decoration.....I know its not Mickey, but I just had to share :)

And now as a result of it every time he sees either Disney ship he proclaims "My Cake!".

We actually found quite a few Mickey or Mickey and Friends decorations to fill out what we picked up on the ship.
Check out http://www.birthdayinabox.com
I have seen balloons, pinatas, etc there.

Try Wilton.com also, search Mickey for cake pans, candles, all things cake related. Our local JoAnns and Michaels carries there stuff also.

Good luck and have fun. Don't forget lots of pictures!

Here is another favor suggestion...depending on what you will spend, as well as how many kids you are having attend...the Disney store has nice Mickey shirts for summer for $5.00 a piece. It sounds pricey, but by the time you get everything else, it might end up being close. Just a thought!

Wow, what great ideas everyone! I knew you all would be the perfect bunch to ask! I love that Disney cruise ship cake! Very creative. I was actually thinking of doing the Mickey rice crispy bars. I was even thinking I could find some Mickey Sprinkles to decorate them with...or I could melt some chocolate to cover the ears in. I was thinking of having pizza and I thought "Hey, I could make a Mickey shaped pizza!" If I made one big pizza and then two little pizzas for the ears....hmmm, maybe that's too much work, but it would be cute! :teeth:

What kind of candies or treats that are Mickey have you seen in your local stores? I went today because I was sure they sold some Mickey fruit snacks but all I saw was Princess, Pooh, and Nemo. (BTW, my oldest had a Nemo party when he was three. That was a fun party to plan!) Three years ago at WDW we had bought some "goldfish cracker" type crackers only they were Mickey ears shaped. Anyone seen those recently? Keep the ideas flowing! Thanks!
