4 days, 5 nights end of March. Two kids, 15 and 6, two adults {in 40s}

Poly- club level lagoon view or standard view non club {two queens and day bed}
Boardwalk Inn- garden view or standard view club level {garden view has two queens, club has two queens and a daybed}
Contemporary- Main tower lagoon view non club {two queens or one king and daybed}
Coronado Springs- Deluxe Suite in the new tower {only has king bed and queen sleeper}

We usually do club and buy the extra fast passes but obviously we're a month out so fast passes are not there now. We are thinking about not doing club and spending the "savings" on a VIP guide one day. The reason for going is a. my husband has a meeting and why not, b. my kids have yet to go to WDW together, c. Star Wars for my SW obsessed son, d. my daughter graduates in two years and it's hard to plan trips. We had to cancel the last thanks to school, we should have just been there at the start of the month.

Gran Destino is priced similar to the non club rooms but seems so far away. We usually stay at Poly or Contemporary so this would be the first trip we're considering non monorail resorts.

Somebody pick for me.

I would think about which parks you want to visit the most and then pick either Poly standard or BWI garden view unless it is a really MK heavy trip and then I would, perhaps, put CR into the mix. Given your timeframe, I would definitely forego CL for the VIP tour. We just did a VIP tour in December and it was incredible. You will get so much done in a day and really won't need any of those FP+ you may have missed out on because you are planning so last minute. We actually really love Poly standard (we will be there soon!) and typically request Rarotonga to be close to GCH and the TTC path. BWI is also lovely and, of course, SO close to EP and DHS (and now the Skyliner), but we have had a lot of noise issues on the resort side (villas seem to be quieter).

I would not do CSR - it's too far away, IMHO and the bedding arrangement in that room is not great for the number of people in your family.

How about the SkyLiner Resort Riviera?
Not certain if you are finding availability at all property-but the RR would give you lots of new variety , Incase you find SW at HS to be frustratingly disappointing with all that. Don’t forget Mickeys Runaway Railway will be open at HS and 3 new updated films at Epcot.
The SkyLiner is an attraction all by itself and RR is new & beautiful to visit. I think RR has queen beds and daybed for your family needs.

The Riviera is a DVC resort which means that it has villas and suites, not a regular resort room. :)

Actually Riviera has a queen Murphy bed and a twin Murphy under the TV in the deluxe studio, no sofa beds. The sofa folds down when you pull down the Murphy bed. Just fyi! I think that's a lot better than a sofa bed.

Thanks for the correction. A Murphy bed would be better than a sofa bed. :)

I agree. Been researching DVC studios for our future trip so I think I have most of the room configs burned into my brain now, lol -- would love if some of the other studios added Murphy's at some point. I think Saratoga just did too.

The weather should be fantastic, which I always think about. The walk from Contemporary to MK should be great. The Poly sounds great too, I typically worry about having to walk to the main building to get coffee in the heat, rain, etc. However, this time of year, you should not have to worry too much about it...….End of the rambling, I would be torn between those two. Boardwalk is in a cute area, but just looks like it needs a refub IMO.

***I love the idea of using VIP instead of extra FP.

My advice from your information: Boardwalk garden view and have the kids share the second queen bed. The walk to Hollywood is the best way to get to Star Wars land for the son and ToT and RR are still the best thrill rides in the parks for older teens, the Boardwalk and EPCOT World Showcase being outside the hotel would give plenty of other entertainment for everyone, and being the center of Disney World means it is easy to get to AK, MK, and DS. The clown pool gets a bad rap but the bar is great and with older kids, they may find the cheesiness of the clown fun (my younger kids think it is funny.) The second choice from your provided facts would be the Poly.

I think we will do each park once, with AK being our least favorite. Which makes staying at GD a little odd. I am leaning toward regular room at the Poly for sentimental reasons with this being our daughters last trip probably as a teen (which is high school so busy!?) and that’s where she stayed first. We are going to book the VIP on Sunday which is our last day. The kids and I will be alone on Thursday and Friday morning so will probably do MK and maybe AK. Then try DHS on Saturday with every other human I’m sure. But I want my husband to be able to go with us and his conference isn’t over until 9am Friday.
