Planning a last minute trip, wondering about tickets

I am planning a last minute trip from Australia (coming through LA for work), and was wondering if it is even worth buying tickets before I get there? I can't seem to find any package deals that work for me, and if I pre-purchase tickets I would still have to go the ticket booth anyway.

Are you going for 3 days or more and planning to use the magic morning? If yes, then you should buy in advance. Either through Disney or a third party site like Ares or Getwaytoday. With most advanced purchases you can exchange the voucher at the turnstile instead of the ticket booth, but depending on how last minute your trip is, you may need access to either print the voucher or be able to display the barcode on your phone. Some of the third party sites don't send the email right away.

I would still recommend purchasing the tickets ahead of time. If you buy them from the Disneyland site or some of the other legit sites you take your ticket to the turnstile and they will give you a park ticket. You won't need to stand in line at the ticket booths.

Thanks for that - I did not realise you don't get MM if you buy at the gate. Will definitely look into some options! It looks like I will be there Sunday 30th October (which I know will be busy), Monday 31st and Tuesday 1st November.

The 30th is probably the worst day of the month to go to the ticket booths because of CHOC Walk and the ticket deal they offer, which has to be purchased at the booths that day. If you guy now, in addition to the print out, I'd take a screenshot of the barcode on your phone so you can go straight to the turnstile, but not use data if you lose the print out and need to use the barcode on your phone.

Keep the screen shot of the barcode until after your trip is over. My sister's hoppers were stolen in the parks, but because she could show a photo of the barcodes, she was able to have them replaced quickly.

Agree with Lucky Rabbit. I took photos of all our park hoppers and Halloween tickets.

Thanks all for your responses. I went out and bought my tickets today - unfortunately a voucher is the only thing available for me over here this close to my trip, so I will be queuing up anyway, but who cares? I will be at Disneyland!

I will be at the parks the same days as you! I had planned on buying tickets at the Disneyland Hotel when I check in on Sunday, because I assumed (stupidly I guess) that you could buy tickets at the hotels the way you can at WDW. Oops...I don't see where tickets are sold at the hotels.

We stayed at DLH in August and had our printed vouchers from buying our tickets on line (bought through "Parksavers") they gave us our Park tickets at the check in counter. Very easy. You could probably just have the screen shot on your phone instead of printing them out.
Have a great trip !
