I'm planning a vacation for October 2015 for my family of four ( myself, dh, ds 17yrs & dd 7). I would like to plan for the weekend before Halloween so the crowds are low. We will be arriving Saturday Oct.24 to Oct.27. It's just a short vacation so the kids can experience Halloween in Disney. Any suggestions? We are planning on buying the ticket for the Halloween party. Going to look into buying one or two tickets for the park haven't decided yet. We are driving which is about 22 hours away from Florida so I'm thinking the day we arrive and the day we leave will be a waste in purchasing a ticket for the parks.

If you happen to arrive by 5:00 in the afternoon then it can be worth going into the park. If you want to try to see all the parks, then purchase a park hopper ticket. Otherwise, I would recommend MK, EPCOT and AK. If you have a lot of thrill seekers, then go to HS, but to me, the place looks like a giant bunch of concrete walls, though I still love the rides there. If you don't want to leave right away on your departure day, then consider downtown Disney or going mini golfing. If you need any more advice please personal message me.

I can honestly say when I drove down, a 14 hour drive, I would want to go to the parks when I go there. I know it hasn't been posted yet but see what park will be the late opening park that evening and you can go there. If you feel like it will be a bit to much for you I would say just go to dinner and walk around DTD, or again depending on what time you get there you can always go to the Poly and have dinner and watch the fireworks at MK from the beach as well as the Water Parade.

Yikes! 22 hours in the car can be exhausting, and you might not be in the mood to go right to the parks. You need to think about your family and whether that will work. What time will you be getting in? There's a big difference in driving in at 9AM versus 5PM. If you get there early enough, you can have some downtime and then go to MNSSHP if it's being held that night. I would suggest not buying a park ticket on the same night that you are going to the party because you can get in at 4PM anyways.
