Hi! I'm planning a larger vacation since we have annual passes this year, we are going during presidents week.

We are going to San Diego for a couple of days and then will be in Anahiem from Monday - Saturday.

First, we need to pick from Residence Inn Maingate and Fairfield inn (we are going to use my husbands Marriott points)....any opinions? How much longer will the walk be from the Residence inn?(we usually stay at HoJos)

Since this trip is to visit LA too this time, I thought we would go to DL in the morning then go do other things...and go back to the parks at night.(my kids are DD 8 and DS 10)

Some of the things I thought we would do are:

American girl tea
Science museum
Tar pits????

What other ideas do you have that would be fun for the kids? (don't want to do Knotts or pirate dinner or medieval dinner, we did that last year)

Thanks for your input!!!

The la zoo is nice and fairly in expensive. Won't taw more than 5 hours of your day.

Tar pits aren't much to see. Hour or two tops.

I haven't stayed at those hotels but I know some offer shuttle service to the park so call the hotel
And check. I would pick whichever one has the shuttle service.

Presidents weekend will be very crowded so I don't know how much time you will be waiting in line for rides, so you
Might want to rethink doing other things besides disneyland, or just use one of your afternoons to do those things instead of multiple days.

We really liked our stay at FFI, it was clean and I remember the beds being pretty comfortable. As far as other things to do, a beach day would be fun and you could rent boogie boards! We did that one year and it was a fun experience. In February it may be pretty cold though...

We just went to the San Diego Zoo last week and it was amazing, if you haven't been. Not many places can you see Giant Pandas.

The walk from the Residence Inn was about 7-8 minutes longer than from the Fairfield, if I remember correctly. I liked it better though because it was bigger and had a full kitchen. Our room also had 2 tvs, which was nice.

As far as other activities go, I have no ideas. My dd just wants to swim or sit in the hot tub ;)
