Planning a divorce trip!!

My divorce was finalized yesterday!!!! I am SO happy!! I am still planning the trip for later this year and I will take the kids in the springtime. I think I have earned this trip. Everyone needs GROWN-UP time and this will be my time. Thanks for all the posts. Nice to know that there are others out there like me!!!

After divorcing my first husband in the mid-80's, I took a trip to WDW for a whole year! Me and my then 7 yo twin sons lived only miles from WDW and spent as much time there as we could. We needed to get out of grey Washington State for awhile; I really needed some sun and time to think about a new life.

After 1 year, we headed back home. They are now 25 but we still talk about that "trip" and the fun we had. We go back periodically to visit and reminisce and have a trip planned this Christmas. There is nothing like WDW to help one renew and move on after a divorce. When I got back home, I met my 2nd husband and we've been happily married for 15 years this coming December. In fact, one of the reasons we are headed to WDW in Dec. is to celebrate our 15th anniversary.

Wow! I didn't know people made divorce trips to Disney World. Maybe I should get a d.....just kidding. ;)

Glad that specific trip to Disney World meant a lot to those of you who divorced. See, Disney World is there thru all the milestones in our lives. Home sweet home. :D

To respond to ValDisney question: No...I have had no trouble at all traveling with my guys. I just tell them the rules up front and they know what to expect while traveling with just me. The only flaw I find is that at restrooms at the airport...they are too big to go in with me to the ladies and I worry about them going alone into the mens....but its a fear that I've had to get over.

We have had more fun as a threesome over the last 4 years than I had in my 16 yrs of vacations with my ex.....talk about a stick in the mudd....I Yi Yi......LOL (still smacking myself in the forehead..wondering what the hell I was thinking all that time?)

happy days are here again....have fun!

I am not divorced, but I do travel a lot with my children and no hubby. He works ALL the time and is not interested in travel or Disney all that much. I have to say that travelling alone with children is a lot easier alone than with my husband. As the only adult, my word is final and there's no whining on appeal. Also, I find that when I'm alone with them, I can pay more attention to their waants and needs and not have to balance them with adult needs. They get my undivided atttention and that is allways good. Go to Disney with your kids. You won't regret it.

Way to go, Lynn! Congrats! See you at work!
