Planning a Dec. trip......

We are planning a trip back to WDW for Dec. This will be our 3rd time for Dec.-we love the Christmas decor. Anyway, we are looking at the week of the 2nd, but do ya'll think the week of the 10th is better? Last year we went the 11th and got lots of rain and the crowds were really picking up by the 18th. We are flexible with dates. So, give me all of your pros and cons!!! Thanks!!

we were there from dec 10-18 - I think if we go this year we will choose mid-week to mid-week to only have 2 weekdays - (I am thinking tuesday the 12th-tuesday the 19th) the 4 weekend days were very crowded - the 5 weekdays were great.

I would go the week of the 2nd. The earlier in December I think would be better for crowds. We were there the 11th - 21st last year and you are right about the crowds. By our last day, which would have only been a few hours anyway, we did not even go to the parks it was so crowded. The closer to Christmas the worse crowds seem to get.

I also wonder about Jan--is it better than Dec? How long are the light/decor up?

We are also planning to go in December this year.......we usually go in May.
What is the weather like in Dec.....We are also thinking about the 2nd.

In 1997 DH and I went to Disney for our honeymoon December 13-18 and crowds were very light. Weather wasn't the best, with some rain and cool days, but nothing bad. I'm shooting for Dec 10- 15 this year so we can celebrate the anniversary and still get the mid-week rates and low crowds.

I've read that the first week in December is bad because of some huge cheerleading competition. Doesn't sound fun to me!

Last year we did Universal the last week of January and it was very nice. No crowds at all and sunny weather. I assume it'd be similar at Disney.

Last year we were there Dec 4-10th. The crowds weren't that bad at all. Never did see any cheerleaders. The weather was very chilly.....but in '04 we were there Nov 26-Dec 1st and it was much warmer. They said last year was there coldest December in a long time. I didn't care though, cuz we were on vacation at the best place in the world!! I would definitely go the first week of December again. The Christmas decorations and festivities were wonderful....and we got home in time to not feel so rushed for Christmas. It just totally puts you in the holiday mood! Tracey
