Planning a Christmas 2011 trip- any hints/tips?

I'm kindof lost planning our first Christmas trip- we will likely go 12/18-22, 2011 and know we want to do both MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional with dinner package...any veterans of Christmas planning care to share your do's and don'ts?

I have searched for info, but my slow connection is hindering my abilities.
