We are planning to gonomthevworld April30-May7. We have already booked airfare for 719.00 for 4 people which I was very happy about. Is the deal that is out now which would be 20% off a value reort the best available? Does anyone think something better will come out?

Disney does not come out with competing offers. They will do package promotions and room-only promotions at the same time. But they aren't going to come out with a lower room-only general public offer when they already have one available.

The only better discount for Value Resorts would be the Florida Resident and AP discount rates, which are reported to be in the range of 25% off the regular rack rate.

At this point in the year it is doubtful that they will come out with a better rate than that. However, if you book that rate be certain to confirm your last date to cancel. When you book only the room (not a package) with Disney, it works similar to a regular hotel booking. If it is the 'Room Only' rate, (which I am assuming it is), you have until 2 or 3 days before your check-in to cancel. That way, if they publish a better rate you can grab the better rate and cancel the old one.

If I book room only now can I add tickets closer to my arrival? What happens if I book a package with room and tickets and the price goes down? We are pretty sure we want to stay at Pop again. The kids loved it and we are hardly ever in our room.

I don't think you have to worry about the price going down between now and Apr/May. The current discounts will be the only discounts. They run through June. The next discounts that Disney will announce will be for dates in the summer.

However, IF Disney were to come out with a better discount after you have booked your trip, you can call to see if there are rooms available at your resorts and for your dates under the new discount code. If they are, you will be able to switch to the lower price without a problem unless you are less than 45 days away from your arrival date (for packages) or less than 6 days away from your arrival date (for room-only). Changes made after those dates result in change/cancellation penalties.

If you book room-only right now, it enters the reservation system under one discount code. If you book a package, it goes under a different code. You can always add tickets to a room-only reservation to make it into a package. If you have a package, you cannot remove the tickets and maintain your discount. They have to cancel the reservation completely and book you as a room-only reservation.

Yes. You can even wait until you get to WDW to purchase the tickets.

Prices are not likely to go down. If you book a package and the price drops, as long as you are more than 45 days, you can check availability for your resort and rebook under the new pricing. Alternatively, if there is no availability for your resort, you could then pick a different resort.

Apparently, booking 'Room Only' cancellation cut-off has climbed from 2 days to 6 since I last did a regular booking. Wow!
