Hello everyone! :)

I've NEVER seen Disneyland at Halloween, and am ridiculously excited to be planning a trip for this year! I'm planning a 7-8 day trip because we haven't been in years, and as I'm pregnant I want to take my time waddling -er... walking around the park. :) I have 11 & 4 y/o boys.

Questions!

1. Should I purchase Mickey Halloween Party tickets for one or two nights? Believe me I don't want to shell out another $200 for another night, but I do want to make sure we get to do EVERYTHING as with a new baby coming, next year we may not be able to do it

2. I've never stayed off property, can someone recommend a good hotel that has suites ( one room with sofa bed, another with regular bed... Husband snores like an exhausted lumberjack) that is really close to the entry gate? And do these hotels decorate for Halloween?

3. If I can manage to stay at Disneyland Hotel, do they decorate for Halloween?

(Bonus Question!) How do I contain my jealousy that my husband and son get to ride the new BTMRR and Space Mountain Ghost when I haven't been on them yet?! :rotfl:

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi! There is a lot of information about MHP and HalloweenTime over in the HalloweenTime SuperThread.

My instinctive answer is that if you want to do everything the Halloween Party has to offer you will need two nights. There are lots of activities, including meet and greets, dance parties, fireworks, Calvalcade, trick-or-treating, etc.

I don't have very many suggestions for hotels. In general, you might see some pumpkins or fall decor, but the resorts do not really decorate for Halloween.

Thank you so much, Figment!! :) I have no idea what to expect with the Halloween party, and don't want to miss anything!

I would say do both nights of the Halloween party if you can. If you're really going for 7-8 days, you'll have some days to fill since Disneyland only sells 5 day (max) hoppers (unless you're getting/have APs?) It might be nice to have a rest day and just enter on the party ticket.

I've never personally stayed there, but I believe Best Western Park Place Inn has those kind of rooms and they are directly across the street. Not sure if they decorate or not.

Renae De Liz -

You will enjoy Halloween Time if you are a fan of Halloween to begin with!

Join us in the Halloween Time Superthread (which figment_jii linked above)! It's not only for information (although it is the best source of concentrated, accurate, year-round information and discussion about Halloween Time), but it's also for discussion, planning, questions and answers! (Plus, it's fun -- and we're friendly people!:cheer2:) Scroll down the posts on page 1 of that thread to get a sense of what is in store for your first Halloween trip!

The 3 hotels are not decorated for Halloween Time (unless Disney suddenly changes that sad fact this year:sad2:). California Adventure is not even decorated for Halloween, for the most part:sad1: (it used to be, but that changed in 2010), with only a few slight exceptions. In Downtown Disney you will see a few decorations in World of Disney and maybe a "fall-inspired" wreath hanging on a random store's door, but that's about it.

On October 31st, the 3 DLR hotels give out candy, apparently, and in the past the GCH had a Halloween photo display up on that date only (but not earlier).

In Disneyland, the main Halloween-ified spots will be the turnstiles at the entrance to DL, Main Street, Frontierland (lots of stuff to see there) and New Orleans Square (only because of the decorations tied into Haunted Mansion Holiday). Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy is in Tomorrowland, but otherwise there are no Halloween decorations there, or in any other land.

If you can afford it, I'd go for two MHP nights. If not, one night will be fine. Everyone 'does' the MHP differently, and I feel like I probably need 2 nights for what I want to do while there, but doing only one night is perfectly acceptable too.
