Is it just me or does anyone else have difficulty planning a vacation 11 months out.:confused3

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining...really. I just find it hard to plan my next vacation after returning from one :laughing:

Oh ya, that sounded a little spoiled, but really, that is not how I meant it.

I mean, who knows what I will feel like doing 11 months from now...sun, sand, surf or wdw.

I have the opposit problem - waiting until we're within the 11 month window!

The think that bugs me some is the 180 day dining reservations.

I make dining reservations at 180 day point and then learn of some event planned by Disney that would be really neat to attend, if only I had not scheduled dining for that date at another location.

I have no problem scheduling 11 months out. I usually go 3 - 5 times per year. Have 4 trips booked within the next year right now. My problem is I need more DVC points, so I can go more often. The way I see it, is if I can book more trips, then I am not looking so far out. If I have too, I can just make a day trip to DTD.

Since we like to resort hop & stay somewhere different each time we usually plan WDW trips at 7 months... BUT we book our DCL's as soon as booking opens (currently we booked in Oct. 2009 for the Med in Aug. 2011). Also planning ahead to 2012 for Aulani...just because we're due for a trip to Hawaii by then so that's pretty far out...of course nothing can be DONE about it until January 2012. :goodvibes I think these 2 trips are more exceptions tho than our usual trips to FL. I DO like to keep some tickers going though!!

Almost all of our vacations are planned a year or more out. I think it's Yellowstone NP that takes reservations up to 2 years out, but our Glacier NP trip that's coming up had to be booked a year ago. If you want to stay on site in certain lodges, you must plan ahead. We usually also book cruises a year out. I intend to teach until September 2012 ( I hope for at least one summer course!)...we're going on a Princess Cruise of the Holy Land and Egypt in October that year!

So, our WDW trips have to fit between other trips, and so, 11 months out is not a heartache or headache at all! I've all my 2011 DVC trips planned, just need to book the last ones.

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. Then there's our weekend trip coming up. That was booked a week ago, so 2 weeks ahead...I'm as thrilled to fit in this extra one as I can be!!!!

I have no problem planning our October :yay:food & wine trip 11 months out......but we do have trips/events that come up and I have to call to see if something is available.....so far...fingers crossed I've always been able to get something

with DHs job it is easier for us to plan a year in advance. The other night we planned vacations for through next November.

For me, it keeps me going. I just returned Friday and can't wait for my 11 month window to open up so I can book next summers trip!

I can't wait until I can go twice a year--once my youngest heads off to college in 4 years. That way, my 11 month window will be coming every 6 months!!

Nope.
We plan way farther in advance than 11 months.
I just book at 11 months.
Then book free tickets at 10 months.
Then plan DDRs.
Then Book DDRs.
Then enjoy the countdowns!

yes and no.

some of my trips are the 11 months - but some are last minute call ms and ask them what they have.

now on last minute trips you generally can't pick your resort - but hey you are at WDW!!!

right now planning on Oct and Dec - next year!

just booked my 11 month out vacation this morning. Can't wait to book my Oct. 2011 vacation in Nov. What I don't like is not having a vacation in the works.

I have trouble with the fact that I can't book until 11 months out!:scared1: I plan about 2 years out for our WDW trips, and I currently have the next 3 years trips in the planning stages.:lmao: Being in the UK I need to book flights as soon as they become available or the prices get ridiculously high, or there is no availability.

Love, Love That!!!

We just joined DVC in June and although did VGC in July (with a friend's points) our first trip home won't be until next June. I must say that planning out at 11 months or more isn't a problem, one of the reasons DVC was right for us. However I will say I am jealous of all the trips the OP's are writing about. Once we had a WDW and DLR trip about 3 months apart but that was the "most" Disney we ever had in one year. Our June, 2011 is booked just waiting for the November 2011 window to open and then going to book a long weekend. I am hoping like the other DVC members posting here that will be the start of more frequent Disney trips.
