So I was looking on options for a side trip next month while in Palm Springs and happened upon a discounted deluxe view at the Disneyland hotel at the right time so I snatched it! Now I can start planning our little 2 night 3 day trip!! I'm telling my kids (9) we are going hiking for the day and not letting them know until we pull up! ( they told me they hope I suprise them next trip) Last night I told them I'm helping a coworker plan a trip and needed help with restaurant, must do's & shows so I could make some plans :) Anyways, now on to my questions!
First, how early should we leave on a Tuesday from Palm Springs to arrive around 6:30 AM? I'm trying to factor in traffic, I get up early for work so leaving around 4-430 won't be an issue, just looking for opinions.

Next, are we good to use the amenities at the hotel all day on our arrival and departure or is there a cut off time?

Lastly, any tower request's? This will be most likely our only stay on property so I'd like to make our short time as special as possible :) Any other tips welcome !

Looking forward to this trip, our trip last June was amazing but I did overschedule! This time I am going to let the kids go at their own pace. I see lots of Grizzly rides and sessions at Animation Acadamy (those were faves last trip) in my future!

Yay for last minute trips! I think you guys were at Hojo's last June when I was there with DS8. Twin girls, right? You will all LOVE the DLH!!! I was just there last weekend (solo birthday trip) and the pool area was just so wonderful, I felt a little guilty being there without the family. Yes, you can use the amenities on arrival and departure day. Your hotel key will get you into the pool area until 1pm on check-out day, but if you need to get in there after that time, just ask for a pool key at the registration desk.

I would ask for the Fantasy or Adventure tower, they are the closes to DTD. I stayed in the Fantasy tower a few years ago and thought that one was great since registration and the shops are in that tower. My recent stay was in the Frontier tower, which is set further back. But, in the end, it's the DLH and staying there is such a treat that I would take any tower they gave me!

You will have a wonderful time! Enjoy!!!

Yes that was me! Thank you so much for the advice, so good to know I can ask for a pool key after 1, my girls love to swim and I don't plan on leaving until 8 that night.
I also took a kid free trip recently (well Sept) , and know that feeling of guilt :)

We stayed at the DLH last December. It was my first time staying in that hotel since their last big renovation/makeover. I'd meant to call and request either the Fantasy or Adventure tower, but I never got around to it. So where did we get stuck.....the Frontier tower, and in the smallest room I have ever seen in any reviews. Going to and from that tower 2-3 times a day (we take breaks) got to be real old after a couple days....and we usually stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel, which is often considered to be further away.

What are your dates in April? You mentioned riding Grizzly, but its going down for refurb on April 18th through May 17th.
