Has anyone seen this one yet? We're wanting to go but haven't heard a thing about it.

I'm intrigued too - I'm debating seeing it in theatres vs Redboxing it in a few months.

Today, on tv, I heard they used the same technology to make it as they used to make Avatar. But, so far, that's all I know about it.

I enjoyed original version.

New one will leave you scared

Online reviews are good, and the actor portraying Caesar is the same one that portrayed Golem in Lord of the Rings

Saw it today and really liked it. The story line is very good and the effects were awesome. Really good set-up for the original Planet of the Apes (when the apes were slaves and rose up). It explains how the humans started to die off and the apes gained intelligence. Good acting & over-all feel to the movie.

We really enjoyed it!

We're going tomorrow :yay:

DD has always loved them all ......and we own them all. She has been having a movie marathon all week. One more to go and she will be ready for tomorrow.

Go to the AMC movie site and watch the trailer. It looks really good and like it may be sad. It appears to be a prequel explaining how the apes became the dominant species on earth. I plan to see it this weekend.

Well we did go see it and loved it! Now we're hoping for a sequel. Lol

gotta see it, but the old ones ending of the statue of liberty can never be equaled

I liked the last Planet movie but I prefer the actors in monkey costumes. I don't like the look of all the computer generated monkeys. It just looks so fake. Not that actors in monkey costumes looked real but it seemed more realistic knowing there was a talking person under the fur. I definitely won't go see it at the theater. I may rent it for the kids on DVD.

I begrudgingly went with DH this afternoon and I enjoyed it! Those worried about it being too sad should be ok. I cry for any kind of animals in jeopardy movie and I did not shed a tear at this one. I thought the movie was interesting and well made.

I found it sad....and did shed a tear or 2, but did enjoy it.

:scratchin Hmmm...I'll have to think this over. I don't like movies that make me cry.

Is this one of those movies better seen on the big screen?

If not, I may wait and see it on dvd. :rotfl:
