Planet Hollywood?

My DS will be turning 16 during our November trip. We've always gone to the Rainforest Cafe for his birthday, but we want to try something different. Has anyone tried Planet Hollywood? Would a 16 year old enjoy the food and atmoshpere? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

you will most likely get a lot of negative reviews on Planet Hollywood here, i have seen them in the past. we like it except for one thing, the tables are right on top of each other. the food for a 16 year old is good, a lot of burger or chicken meals. the movie prop and video themeing is very good and we have always found the service to be good

We have enjoyed our visits here. If your 16 year old is into movies and movie stars, then it would be a good decision. The food is basic burgers, pasta, etc.

my DS is 14 and it was one his favorites on our last visit. Our service was great and the food wasn't bad. It was hard to get him to sit down and eat, he loved walking around looking at all the movie stuff!

DH and I like Planet Hollywood, but when it is crowded, sometimes you feel like you are right on top the the person next to you. Food is good as well as all the neat movie props.

Enjoyed our last meal at Planet Hollywood and I think your son would enjoy the experience. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

The atmosphere at Planet Hollywood is o.k. but the food is mediocre at best. Why not try to House of Blues? The food is much much better and it's a really neat place to eat.

I'm sitting here racking my brain for somewhere good to go. Here in Niagara, Canada, we have both the Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood, they must set up shop in touristy places! And, I think I actually did go to Planet Hollywood for my 16th birthday. In comparasion, I think Rainforest Cafe has 10x better food.

Planet Hollywood to me, just seems to have mediocre food and really high prices, it does have cool theming but I imagine that there has gotta be somewhere else in the 'world' that would have something even better! Maybe the Sci Fi Drive-In would be good... that place is one of my favourites and I can see it appealing to a 16 year old guy. My fiancee (24) loved it! :earboy2:

We thought the food at Planet Hollywood was pretty good, and the theming is definitely something most 16 year olds would like. The thing we didn't like was how loud it was there - the loudest restaurant we've ever been in, WDW or elsewhere. We couldn't talk at all, to each other or to our server. I doubt if the noise would bother most 16 year olds though, and he'll probably be so busy looking at all the movie props he won't want to talk anyway. :)

When my son was 16, he really, really, really wanted to go to Planet Hollywood so we did for lunch. Food was OK, atmosphere was great. But like someone else said, it was LOUD! If you are doing this for your son, then go ahead and do it. But take ear plugs and be prepared to shout your conversation for the entire meal.

I just consulted with my 24 year old fiancee :cool1: and he agreed that there should be somewhere else in the 'world' that would be better, especially in the food department, like Wolfgang Puck's.
