Looking for a TS in DTD .. has anybody ever tried either of these ?? What do you think?

We have done PH twice and really had good experiences both times. It does seem to draw mixed reviews from this board, but I really like the variety in their menu--there is something there for everyone. It is loud and noisy, but the kids love playing "I Spy" to keep the entertained while waiting for the food. I had the fajitias last time and they were really tasty, they also have great desserts! YUM!

We are thinking of trying Cap'n Jacks this year too. I'd love to hear about it as well. We did Planet Hollywood back in 1996. Didn't think it was anywhere near worth the price and never went back. Food was nothing to write home about either ~ except the veggie pizza. That was great!

Both are okay, Captain Jacks is really nothing special, except for the fact that it is on the water. Food is very basic American, Planet Hollywood has a little more variety.

I agree that PH has a better menu. We ate there last August and loved the food. The service was also good. My only complaint was the noise level....too much for me but no one else in my party was bothered by it.

While I have not eaten at CJ I have seen the menu and for us, we are not picky but, there just was not enough.

Is a must for us every trip - they have a twin lobster tail dinner that is to die for and it is only 1 TS on the DDP - PH is not on the DDP.

I thought I read somewhere on this site that Planet Hollywood is on the DDP. Anyone know for sure?
Thank you

Planet Hollywood is on the DDP. Check out this list http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm#rest .

You cannot use your package $15 food voucher for any extras you order, though. The voucher is to be used without any other "specials" and the DDP is considered a special, I guess. We will probably go just for drinks and appetizers and use the voucher then.

My family really likes Planet Hollywood. It can be loud, but most WDW area restaurants are loud ;) .

We haven't been to Captain Jacks, I considered it, but they just don't have enough variety for our tastes.

We thought our trip to Capt. Jacks would be a special treat where DW could have twin lobster tails on the dining plan. Boy was this a huge mistake!

My soupy spinach and artichoke dip with chips from the grocery store and inedible alfredo with dry chicken on top were so bad that I had to send them back.

DS had mac and cheese that were some weird day-glo orange that I totally understood why he wanted nothing to do with it.

DW's lobster was rubbery enough that you could use a melon scooper and make superballs.

I gave up on the entire dining experience, but DW was brave and ordered the key lime pie for dessert. This was not up to the quality that we had in other WDW restaurants and had a cold firm spot in the middle that told me they were serving frozen pies.

I can't attest to the quality of Planet Hollywood's cuisine, but I'd rather eat a happy meal off the floor of McDonalds than do Capt. Jack's again.:crazy2:
