we just returned today tuesday. may 30th after a week long vacation at pop century resort.
arrival day we had a really good flight love delta/song they have movie screens at every seat. how cool is that? i know your all thinking what a loser we all know that,but i didnt i havent been on a vacation in 4 years. i played trivia against the other passengers my kids watched the plane and where it was every second they would let me know where we were. my husband the news of course.easy transfer from plane to the magical express. i think we had about a ten minute wait. i looked for fast pass didnt have one for this ride. little joke there. we were the first stop 10 minutes to check in and off we go to our room.we get to the big glass doors they open and my kids were so excited. i had planned to go to a park the first night to catch the fireworks rides something. lets get this party started im thinking. nope into the room bathingsuits on and down to the pool we went. good choice i was pretty wiped out from the trip after all. i am thinking in the back of my head when do things get bad things always go bad for me so far everything good. i love this place it trurly is magical. we swam that night until 10:30 pm. we have had 12 days of rain and 40 degree weather we were taking it all in .after fighting with my dd brooke who is 3 almost 4 her and i went up stairs to dream of mickey. my dh and 11 dd went to scope out the grounds dont know when they got in i was sawing logs.they did wake me to tell me there is rabbits all over hopping around and ducks. good first day . we stayed in room 4433 backside of perfered. loved it very quite for a family.and little tip great spot to see fireworks from epcot at 9 pm every night with no crowds. day two coming soon if all wants to here about it. if not i will tell you anyways just you dont have to read it. just kiddin there.

Pop is a fun resort. I stayed there a few years ago. The grounds are a lot of fun to walk around.

fantastic day and we had the 11 days of warm weather in Disney and came home to 12 days of rain in Maine.......thanks so much for your start of your magical trip.......I think I need to go back too

magic kingdom here we come.couldnt wait until dd3 saw the castle for the first time.will her eyes light up? oh yeah they did. she was afraid of the characters,but i was expecting that since my dd11 was scared to death at 3 .we strolled around the parkrode all the small not so scary rides,remember my family dont do alot of the good rides.so for the sake of my family this time no big rides for me .that is ok this vacation was about the dd anyways.we saw the parade at 3pm was so pretty.my dd11 got kicked by a cast member dressed as some hairy thing with big toenails.was pretty funny.we ate at counter services all day for meals.which was a good choice because it was so hot my dd didnt eat that much anyways. my dh on the other hand ate his and their leftovers. it was about 6pm and the kids didnt want to be at the park anymore. they wanted the pool at the hotel. so off to the bus stop always the last stop. like we dont walk enough in the park, we have to walk forever to the bus to.
i want to thank everyone about the suggestions about tevas wow what a confortable sandle. my feet didnt hurt at all . stay tuned for day three attack of the bird, and animal kingdom.

i wake up early this morning about 6 am. my dh is already gone he is a early riser. i comb my bedhead hair, and grab my pop mug in much need of a cup of coffee. but the coffee here is not that great. it is nescafe but something is better then nothing. i pass my hubby he is sitting by the petels bar at a round table with an unbrella,having a smoke and drinking his coffee.i join him and enjoy the early morning piece and quite. my kids are still sleeping so enjoying the no whinning at this point. as we sit there and chatting about what to do today a guy walks by the laundryroom/bathroom by the bar and a momma bird swoops down in pecks him (a little peck) in the back of his neck. he kinda was shocked. he walked a few more steps and the bird got him again he started to run a bit and yup that bird got him on the steps going up to the food court. ok i know i will here something from this comment but i have to tell you if only i had a video camera that was the funnest thing ever. i could have won 10,000 on funny videos on that one. so he finally gets away from momma bird . and yup you guest it. i found entertainment waiting on the next person. wasnt long 4 older ladies walk through yes i was tempted to say something but you guest it i didnt. and i guess momma bird didnt like one of the ladies because he got her 4 times. i by now am laughing so hard i could have pee pee on my self. after they left the first guy came and sat next to us with his wife and 2 dds he had a video camera but guess what momma bird must be camera shy because she didnt peck again while he was there.
so after i knew no more fly by pecking was going to happen i went up stairs to shower and get ready for ak.
i am ready to go get dds up and ready no easy task because they could care less about the parks. they wanted to stay and swim all day. i cant figure them out first vacation in 4 years and they want to swim.we get on the bus and off we go. i tell them it will be a short day since park is closed earlier them the others. i love parades and both dh and i are smokers so we check out the map and guess what yup a smoking place for us and a great spot to watch the parade for dds how perfect is that? went on the safari later in the day pretty good time to go saw alot of animals but wasnt that great i didnt think. thought i would see more. dds really loved it we live in farm country so animals they just love. the weather was like 93 was hot and sweaty all day long. i know what am i compaining about? well we had wood stove on the day before we left 40 degrees it was. it was kind of a shock to our system. oh i forgot the best part of the trip, when we first got to the park we were all hungry and guess what only place to eat breakfast was the restraunt with the character,cant remember the name. my kdis didnt want to eat at pop so we said to save time we can eat at ak. and remember we dont plan anything. so i walk up ask the nice cm do i need a reservation ? she said how many i said 3 adults(that kills me my dd is only 11) and one child. she says name ? i give it to her she says it will be about 15 minutes. great i am happy. get to eat with characters and have a buffet all you can eat. my hubby is grinning from ear to ear on that one. two minutes is what we waited. i think i sat in the chair and they called our names. how cool is that? not bad for a non planning family. food was really good. and it was goofys 75th birthday. happy birthday to him. he looks great. they came to our table kissed my dd11 and took pictures signed there books which we bough at walmart and decorated ourselves. they the characters and noticed and was shaking there heads and pointing at them. but the down side my dd3 wanted to hide under the table . i told her to sit and look micky tried to get close but she was getting that i dont think so mom look. she did pretty good concidering. the price for those breakfast are a little pricey but welcome to disney . they should have a small price tag for little ones. my daughter didnt eat much and never has. but it was still fun.
ok back to after the parade we decide the kids had enough. ok i have had enough. back to pop and the pool. we swim and yup at 9 pm up to our favorite spot 4th floor in back watch the fireworks . then off to bed was up early and after many melt downs by dd3 i was tired.

thanks for reading . the two people that is good must be im not that funny as some i have read. pretty new at this and tried to jot notes everyday when i had a few minutes to myself while dh kept kids busy so i could have some quite time.actually if your not use to being with your children 24-7 it is very trying. i am soooooooooooooo ready to go back to work or a vacation for just me. is that wrong?

ok i have spent alot of time and thought on my report and not may comments im starting to feel a little bad the nobody is commenting on it good bad or indifferent. should i continue with the rest of the days or just end my report here and now? give me the word and i will do whatever. if nobody is going to read then i will save my energy and go on with my life.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry about your kids and the pool. My DD never gets the chance to swim because I'm the commando type -- we start early and end late.

Which "preferred" building are you in - really want to ask for that general area when we go in August, since you have such a great view of IllumiNations.

we were in 60s building room number 4433 all we had to do was walk around the corner about 4 doors and could see it perfect. was nice no crowds to deal with. my kids i found out dont like to be rushed and pushed expecially when its 90 degrees. we are not use to that weather being from vermont. we get hot here but not like that and we have been in cold and rain for 12 days prior to leaving for florida. so when they saw the pool i was in trouble. plus they love meeting new kids and did so. we meet nice families that had kids like mine wanted the pool.

I hope you continue your report-the bird pecking was pretty funny. Isn't it wierd what amuses us sometimes. If that would have been me and the bird-I would have been screaming my head off.
