I'm really not trying to be dismissive but the reason you feel like these things are happening more often than they used to is precisely because you don't fly super often. More than 45,000 flights a day are handled by the FAA, not including commercial air traffic initiated by other countries. In fact there's actually been fewer incidents this year than this time last year, there's just been way more media attention being paid to them. As folks keep saying in this thread.

I get what you and everyone is saying and what the real numbers are. But since I was flying that airline on those very same days its hits me a little differently. Clearly Im not scared into not flying I still boarded the flight and came home.
