Got home Tuesday from a SOLO trio to WDW for Expedition Everest Preview. I left 1/27 and returned 1/31. DH drove me to EWR on Friday. On Tuesday I decided to try the "Plane to the Train".
My flight was supposed to leave MCO at 12:45PM, due to bad weather, high winds in Newark, it left Orlando at 3:15PM, bringing me into Newark right at Rush Hour. We touched down around 5:30PM, I had a checked bag, bags came up fast. At 5:55PM I walked to the AirTrain monorail in terminal C. I purchased my ticket for $11.50 one way to South Amboy. I boarded the monorail, and got off at the second stop. I put my ticket thru the turnstyle, looked up at the train board and saw that there was a train at 6:14. I went to the gate, but it had already left. The next train was 6:51PM. That train was late and didn't come into the station until 7:25PM. I eventually got to South Amboy at 7:55PM and called DH from the train. He was there to pick me up in two minutes. I had a small suitcase, my laptop computer and a small backpack. I didn't want my DH coming to Newark Airport during rush hour. I think I would do this again if solo. It wasn't bad. The Newark Area had rain and high winds during the day which backed up flights and trains.

I had gone done also on 1/27 with 5 other girls but we drove and parked at Newark. We came home on 1/29 and was also delayed due to weather here. I don't think the train would have worked at midnight when we landed but I wouldn't mind trying it sometime!! How'd you like EE wasn't it great???

Glad to hear you had a good experience. I've been thinking about using it on my return in May. The flight gets in during rush hour rather than have someone come pick us up I think we'll try the train.

Do all NJ rail lines connect for EWR access?[/QUOTE}

I saw NJ Transit and Amtrak trains stopping at the airport station. I quess for all other trains you would have to change in Newark.
The NJ Transit lines were the Trenton line(NE corridor) and the North Jersey Coastline.

Expedition Everest was fun. I took my glasses off on the first ride on Friday, couldn't see a thing, was afraid they would fall off. On Saturday AM I rode again, kept my glasses on, and just held them with one hand. The tunnel in the dark at the fast speed was scary. I met my friend's daughter for a few hours, she is in the CP. When I got back, she called me on Thursday that on her day off she went to AK with CP friends and rode 7 times in a row. Youth.
