Hi, My husband is diabetic and has to take his Insulin when we go to Universal next week. Those who have had to take this before, what do you put it in? Also, at the Resort...where do you throw the needles? Do we have to take a special container with us to throw them away in cause I know we definitely can't just throw them in the waste basket.

Also, I just had surgery on my eye recently and need my perscription eyedrops. Am I going to have any trouble with taking that on the plane?

Thank-you for any help,
Katie

I would call the resort and ask.....you may need a container. As far as taking the insulin on the plane, It should go in the carryone and should be exempt from the liquids rule, especially if the container has the original prescription label on it.....i just put my eardrops in the liquids bag, just to be safe :thumbsup2

I always take my insulin in my carry on...along with all my other medications...(including nose spray) I just put them in a clear zip lock baggie...so..those inspecting my carry on can see it...I keep my insulin in one of those mini "frio coolers"....The ones you put in water to get the crystals cold...Unbelievable...it stays cold for at least a week without having to put it in the water again...They are small enough to put in a fanny pack or purse...The resorts will provide you with a container to put your syringes in...:cool1: At least at the Disney resorts they do...

carryon and ALWAYS just because bring a note from the doctor which states he's a diabetic and needs all his supplies and stuff... my husband has been on many plane rides with his needles and has NEVER had his bag searched (dont know why! it's needles but i guess the xray machine doesnt pick them up?) but we always keep a note just incase cause you never know!

the hotel, my husband says he keeps his needles till he gets home? i dont pay him much attention but that's what he told me. he said they do make something that you put the needle part in and it breaks just the needle part off then you can throw away the rest.

the eye drops should be fine but like the other ppl said, clear baggy. and if has to be under 3 ounces or something like that. if they haven't changed that.

thats all! im goign to US soon! w00h00!
