This will be our third visit to Disney World, but our first staying offsite. We are unable to check in before 4pm :(. We live on the west coast and will have been on and off planes since 9pm the night before. So, I expect we will be too tired to do much, but what about a water park?

I imagine we could arrive around 1pm. Spend some time playing and relaxing before checking in. We have the water park fun and more option.
  1. Does anyone have any thoughts to share about this plan?
  2. Are we likely to find a shady spot to rest if we arrive at that hour?
  3. Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon better for this type of visit?
  4. Any other suggestions for this arrival time and check in dilemma?
I will be traveling with my husband and 9yo son. We arrive on Tuesday 4/28, if that matters.
TIA!!:)

That would make sense, if you're not too tired from travelling. Water parks close early (5 or 6 p.m.? not sure) so you can make a short day of it before crashing early that night to do rope drop at one of the parks the next day.

Which one to go to? Since you have a limited amount of time, I would just go to the one that is closest to your hotel. I assume you'll be leaving your bags at the hotel before check in?

There are ton 's of shady spots in both. Go to BB because it is usually less crowded in my opinion. Get a locker. Change. Go relax and enjoy your day.

Did you book a flight with a 6 hour layover? I'm just trying to figure out how it can take nearly 12 hours to fly from the west coast :) :confused3

Unfortunately, we have to fly from OR to NY = 5hr, then layover for 2+ hours and hop on another flight to FL for nearly 3 more hours!! And don't forget the time change !! There aren't a lot of great options from here and the price was right!

:thanks: Appreciate the suggestions. We were leaning toward TL, but if BB is less crowded we will go there. We really just need a place to relax and wait till we can check in. Can't wait to :beach:.

I prefer TL for relaxing. It is a much prettier, tropical looking park to me and it always seems less crowded to us than BB.

I say go to TL, then hop in the lazy river for a couple of hours. It's amazingly relaxing!

I think water park on arrival is a great idea. Two drawbacks in my mind: I'm always very tired after a few hours at a Disney water park. Who know the bobbing pool could be so exhausting?! :smooth: Second, time flies at the water park. By the time you get there and change, do a couple of attractions, it'll be time to go. But what a great way to jump start your vacation.

I prefer TL for theming and The Crush N Gusher. But you really can't go wrong with either park.
