PlanDisney Panelist Search 2025 Applications Open July 8

I had zero idea this was a thing until 2 hours ago. Thought it would be fun to do. Applied. Now I'm looking into it thinking that there is absolutely zero chance! Good luck y'all!
There are many people that have made it onto the panel their first time applying so you definitely have a chance!

All, it seems like the person that originally created this thread isn't active on the DIS anymore. Should we make a new thread for the 2026 search or keep using this one with an inaccurate title?

I vote new thread for 2026!

While we're waiting for the 2026 search to start, @iheartglaciers will you share about what it's like being on the planDisney panel? What was the training trip like? What are the day to day responsibilities? Have you gotten any cool perks or opportunities?

Hi! Sorry I missed this message until now!

It’s been amazing being a part of the panel, and finally seeing it from the other side, especially after five years of applying and feeling like my applications just went into a black hole 😂. Although still so much is a mystery to us as panelists, especially with search!

It’s fun answering such a wide range of questions, although naturally some questions are more fun to answer or research than others! It’s definitely a lot of work, but the hours vary week to week depending on the question volume. My favorite part is working alongside the other panelists who are obsessed with Disney and passionate about helping others, and really just a diverse and interesting group.

The training trip is such a unique experience—spending what felt like 24/7 with your classmates for an intense few days and then having to say goodbye! It was a mix of learning how to do the panel work and lots of social time to bond with your classmates. I had never been on a Disney cruise before, so that was also cool for me!

The day to day responsibilities is mainly answering questions. We have a certain number each week that we need to complete. Sometimes there are optional opportunities to answer questions in video form as part of their Instagram stories Q&A, which is nice to mix things up! But that’s up to each panelist to decide if they want to participate or not, and we’re not pressured to do it.

Some of my classmates have been brought down to film videos, but I haven’t been invited to any extras yet!

After so many years of applying, it feels a little strange to not to have my annual obsessing over 100 word answers 😅. But I’m so excited to cheer you all on and hope we get another Disboards panelist this year!!!

That’s awesome! I’m tempted to apply, but I know the competition is fierce. Still, sharing Disney tips with fellow fans sounds like such a dream gig—good luck to everyone going for it!

Do they give you lots of info about new things? Like did they send out lots of info about Disneylands 70th for example? Or do they expect you to keep up to date on your own?

A mix of both, but since we're expected to research and fact check our answers, we're largely keeping up to date on our own. It is supplemented with information they send us and periodic team calls, but as you know things are always changing! And you wouldn't necessarily be expected to keep up with information on all specialties. So if you're on the panel for Disney World, you're mainly answering those questions. Sometimes I help with Disneyland questions if the volume is high since I've been there a lot recently.
