what have you found better to do on your first plan. there is so much to do i am getting bogged down with trying to plan. im almost at the point where it might be better to just go with the flow when we get there and if we miss out on stuff well im sure i could just go back :rolleyes1

I like to have a rough plan but also go with the flow. I know what restaurants I'd like to try this time but haven't booked them and won't until I'm there.

I've also had a quick look at this weeks programme but I'm not planning my days hour by hour or making sure we get to this show or that meet and greet. I didn't megaplan last year and we still saw the shows, ate where we fancied etc.

A lot of us plan because it's enjoyable so if it's getting you stressed then don't worry about it :)

all I'm doing for Jan is planning our night time meals...the rest is go with the flow attitude!:goodvibes

I think if you try and cram in everything your end up being stressed.

I like to plan my meals and then make a list of must do's. Like do EMH then have some brekkie then join a meet and greet etc then i just go with the flow.

If you try and cram to much in I think you'll be rushing around to much to fully enjoy and ppreciate where you are.

I've just been on our first Drisney Trip and largely went with the flow, we didn't do everything by a long shot.

But just by simply knowing where things were it made our trip so much more enjoyable. Especially knowing where we didn't want to eat. It saved us a lot of time walking around between restaurants.

If i were you i'd make sure that during the holiday i'd have 2 things per day i definately wanted to do, then you have a supreme wish list that you could tick off per day in any order depending how you feel.

That way you'll always insure you won't be leaving dissapointed that you missed something out.

Of course this all depends on how long you are going for

Make sure you catch the shows. Lion King is superb. We have seen Mickey and Minnie's Winter Wonderland and Tarzan. Both were fantastic. Also in the Studios, catch the stunt show, its performed regularly throughout the day.

My 8 year old daughter says don't forget Rock n Rollercoaster in the Studios. Its fantastic!!

Completly agree with this :thumbsup2

We had about 2 things that were "must do's" then after that we went and did whatever took our fancy.

TBH I could actually people watch all day :lmao:

For us, we (or rather I !!) had a rough plan. First time when we went, we didn't have one and I think we missed out on quite a few things (plus I wasn't quite "into" DIS yet at the time) and wasted a bit of time umming and ahhing about places to eat etc. Second time round, I read lots of posts/tips from the lovely people on here and also, knew my way around the park a bit more. I knew where I wanted to eat and I worked our days round the shows/parades which I wanted to see. Other than that, I just went with the flow, depending on when/where we were at the time kinda thing.

The same thing's gonna happen in December - I'm gonna work the days round the Xmas shows and restaurant reservations. I'm not expecting to be able to go on many rides then because of the crowds. But as long as I catch all the shows, I'm a happy bunny!

I am not planning rides (we had 4 days last time and it was plenty to see everything, and do certain things twice) but agree about planning restaurants. We wasted an awful lot of time wandering from restaurant to restaurant trying to find somewhere to eat. So what I've done this time is to read all the restaurant reviews and menus and have booked a few places. I've got a list of everywhere that we want to eat, and everywhere that looks good so if we are in any particular land and need to eat then I can look at my list and know "right, we can go there to eat" rather than wandering from land to land. That'ws as much as I'm doing this time and I think (hope!) it will be enough!

My trip jsut gone was my first in a long time (since studios had opened) so I pretty much planned like it was a first trip.

I think it's silly to plan what rides you'll do and stuff as you can't aniticpate waiting tiems etc.

But the best bet is to plan your meals (if thats important to you) and to plan shows and stuff (Lion King was only on during our first and last days so I needed to plan for it) then let the rest happen.

Each night we both went to sleep saying 'tomorrow I really want to...' so that was pretty much the extent of our daily plans (execpt for resturant booking) also, you get a lot of time in queues to study the map!

We certainly could have done better though!

My top tip:

Go on pirates straight after the parade. NO line at all, and we were there during peak summer!

Our family (yes even hubby):) sat in our hotel room at night with the disney maps spread over one of the beds.
we would discuss what we wanted to do the next day but it wasn't a rigid plan. As long as we managed to fit in the major attractions at least once during our stay, we were quite happy to just go with the flow.
The important thing is just to enjoy your holiday.:woohoo:

that sounds like what i will be doing but add in a toddler who wants to draw on the maps and three other people who keep telling me to put away the maps :rotfl2:
