hi everyone, I need your help to plan my family vacation. We're kind of at an impass right now and my dad suggest I "go ask my Internet friends." ;) Which week do you think would be best for us to go to WDW this summer? June 27- July 3 or August 1-7??

We usually go in late June and have had pretty good luck with the crowds. Being that our last 5 trips were peak time vacations, we're fine with the summer crowds. I could also tan nicely for my friend's wedding in July... hmm....

My dad is pushing for the August week so he can spend his birthday with Mickey Mouse. ;) What are crowds like that week?

The heat's not a factor for us, so either would be fine. Any advice, suggestions, or feedback would be just delightful. Thanks bunches!!

I would suggest the 1st week in August. Although the heat and humidity will be the same, I think the crowds might be slightly less. The week leading up to 4th of July would probably be more crowded than usual. The summer crowds are bad enough but to have summer and holiday crowds is a little too much. We have gone the 1st week in August and it is crowded. We took advantage of EE and fastpass and were able to do everything we wanted to. Plan a character meal for your dad's birthday and be sure to get him a Birthday pin.

I think you should take into consideration when different parts of the country (or world for that matter) are off from school.

Does Florida go back to school in August?

What about South and Central America? In the summer (July) I saw a LARGE number of tour groups from these areas. I would try to avoid tour groups of any kind, if at all possible.

Maybe you could post questions with regards as to when people are done with/return to school and then base your decision on that.

Let your dad enjoy his birthday with Mickey! You don't need to tan anyway....bad for your skin. When you get older, you will have lots of wrinkles or worse melanoma!!!! Don't forget your sunscreen!!!!

Another Aug vote here!

Although I have never been to WDW during peak times, I think Aug would be better than the week leading up to Jul 4th.

Another August vote. What a great way for your Dad to spend his birthday--with family at a place he is obviously fond of.

We'll be there in August! We leave July 31 and come home August 7....maybe we'll see you there if you choose that week! I'll be the crazy looking person being followed by a bunch of zombie looking people!lol  We're having a family reunion there that week and most of the people coming with me are "newbies"...what have I gotten myself into????

My vote is August. Let your dad enjoy his b-day with Mickey, he wil enjoy himslf a lot. We go every August, yes it's very hot but we have a great time anyway!
