I'm sure this has all been said before, but I am looking for ideas on where to stay the night before our Disney cruise. Since our flight choices arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, we will fly into Orlando one day prior.

My questions are...

1. Should we stay at a hotel around MCO (Orlando Airport) and then transfer to Port Canaveral the next day? With this choice, we would have to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel and then to PC (Port Canaveral) the next day.

2. Or should we go out to PC the day we arrive and stay at a hotel around there? I don't even know if there are places to stay in PC.

3. Does anyone know the mileage and how long it takes to get to Port C from Orlando?

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated!

Question 1/2. Can do either, IMO if my flight was coming in late in the evening then I would stay near MCO.

Question 3. Takes about 45 minutes from MCO to terminal

Best place to find info on where to stay is www.dcltribute.com

It is less than an hour give or take 10 minutes from the airport...there are plenty of places to stay at the port area....

Check out this link for great info on the port area hotels....

We have stayed at the Radisson, Double Tree and holiday inn at various times. We sometimes stay near the airport and sometimes near the port....all depnds on that particular trip. It is a very easy ride to the port from the airport...

First check out www.dcltribute.com It's gives a listing of all hotels near the port and rental car places. It also have directions to the port from MCO.

Since looking on that site. We decided to drive to the port friday. We're renting a car from Budget and staying at the Marriott Courtyard. We picked the Courtyard b/c we could get a free room with points. Then on Saturday we will return the car to the Budget near the port and take their shuttle to the port. Florida car rental places do not charge a one way drop off free. So we got the car from Budget for $40.

Another idea which I've heard people do is staying at hte Hyatt at MCO or a surrounding hotel (I know there's a marriott near MCO) then taking the DCL buses to the port the next morning. Most hotels near the airport have free airport shuttles that you could take to and from the airport.

we stayed at hilton garden inn, right by the airport. got the hotel shuttle (free) to take us to our hotel & back the next morning (cruise day), and had disney transfer from mco to port. was very easy/convenient! and they offered free breakfast! nice extras, for us with young ones! good luck! :flower:
