Places to live near Disneyland

Does anyone have any suggestions about places to live in or around Anaheim, especially from experience on past CPs or PIs? I'm about to start a PI in June and my parents are super concerned about safety, so instead of just relying on apartment website reviews I'd love some opinions from experienced tenants in my age group!

There are various Apartment complexes that are near the resort. Most of the new ones are "safer" than the older ones. I have friends who live in the new apartments on Katella, Chapman, and over by the Angel Stadium.

We go locally for school and it's generally pretty safe. Theft is always a problem no matter where you are but as for the people you'll find a lot of college kids in community colleges and nearby Chapman University.

I'm thinking about doing the DLR CP or PI in the spring. About how much is rent in that area? Even a range would be helpful.
